Making Things Right

Well I have to give the devil his due.  We fought to a time limit draw.  But he knows as well as I do that if I had just been given a few more minutes, I would have beaten him.  Jake Starr proved once again that he is a coward, he is an irrelevant nobody who does not belong in the same ring as Angelica Jones.  He is lucky to escape with one point from this.

As for me, last Breakdown was just a warm-up.  From here on out the wrestling world and those in the Shot of Adrenaline tournament will get to see the real Angelica Jones.  I am done playing nice and I am done settling for a draw.  Winning is what matters and winning by any means necessary is my motto, because that is the name of the game.

The name of the game is winning and that is what The Sisterhood does best.

Kayla Jones, the younger sister and one half of professional wrestling duo known as The Sisterhood, currently sits Indian style (or would that be Native American style to be politically correct?) on her older sister’s bed.  No, this is not some kind of raunchy incest stuff, you sick minded freak.  She is fully clothed, in blue jeans, her flip flops lie on the floor by the bed, so thus she is barefoot, she is wearing a plain red t-shirt, and her long gorgeous red hair is pulled into a ponytail in the back.

No, she isn’t sleeping on the bed.  She is just here visiting her older sister, who happens to be standing a few feet away from the bed.  Angelica, by stark contrast, is dressed to the T.  She looks quite exquisite in her sleeveless solid black feminine lace hemline little black dress that stops just at the knee.  The elder Jones sibling is perched atop black high heeled pumps that contain her feet.

What brings Kayla out here to her sister’s not so humble Boston, Massachusetts mansion that Angelica jovially calls Purgatory?  Well, your narrator could say that it has nothing to do with sisterly gossip of any kind, but your narrator would be lying through his teeth (assuming narrator’s have teeth).  Part of this visit does indeed have to do with the kind of gossip you can expect from sisters and this particular evening has to do with Angelica’s love life.

The Sisterhood as a tag team has been on a slight downhill turn lately.  They lost the GCW Global Tag Team Championships to Julia Braddock and JaMarcus Avery of The Republic and then they lost the SCW World Tag Team Championship to Autumn Valentine and Gable Winchester.  Granted, it was to be expected.  No champion keeps their title forever.  Eventually, everyone must lose, no matter how good they are.  Kayla and Angelica, being the consummate professionals they are, both know this and understand this.  But that doesn’t stop Kayla Jones from looking for an excuse, a reason as to why the two of them have slipped recently.

In the eyes of business-minded Kayla Jones, she pins the blame almost entirely on her older sister’s personal life distracting her from the task at hand.  That personal life currently involves a roller coaster of a relationship with her estranged wife, Lindsey Carter.

It seems as if the relationship was doomed from the start.  Angelica only pretended to fall in love with Lindsey as part of a larger, more intricate plan to bankrupt Lindsey Carter and eliminate her as one of Meagan Collins’s potential competitors within the larger business world.  Angelica and Meagan, the best of friends forever, hatched a plan to trick Lindsey into signing over control of her corporate empire to Meagan in the event of a divorce.  It was the perfect trap.  Lindsey would remain forever enslaved to the marriage or she would have to cede her entire corporation to her arch nemesis.

Ah but the best laid plans never do work out, do they?  What no one counted on was Angelica and Lindsey legitimately falling in love.  Lindsey loved her wife so much that she stuck her neck out to try and get Angelica out from under the thumb of Samantha Hodgson.  Unfortunately that put her right into the waiting arms of Silas Mason.  And when Angelica learned how Lindsey lied and manipulated her into leaving Hodgson in favor of Silas, there was hell to pay.  Angelica was angry enough at Lindsey’s lying and manipulation that she was prepared to use the prenuptial agreement to torture Lindsey; or “reeducate” her, as Angelica puts it.

Oh but once again, the best laid plans never do work out.  What Angelica didn’t count on was Meagan Collins , her conspirator in the whole process, losing her mind, and soul, to Aphrodite Noel.  With Meagan out of the picture, Lindsey was free to walk away if she wanted to.  All bets were truly off.  Anything could happen.

But Angelica and Lindsey didn’t want to end it just like that.  They wanted to make it work out some way.  Somehow.    And that is what brings them to the situation where they are both in today.  They find themselves willing to work it out, willing to try and recapture that love they once had for one another.  This time, finding it legitimately, and not through some scheme or manipulation.

That’s all well and good and Kayla does hope that her older sister gets what she wants, but at the same time she also knows that her career, and the careers of the Sisterhood as a collective, must fit in somewhere.  Both of them have goals.  Winning back the tag team titles, among them.  Angelica, herself, is in the Shot of Adrenaline Tournament and has not gotten off to a good start.  Sure, she does have one point due to a draw with Jake Starr, but had she been focused, had she been ready, she may have beaten him to get more points.  Now Angelica has to fight from behind and that, in the view of Kayla, is evidence of Angelica being distracted from the task at hand.

Angelica’s next match in the tournament comes against Tyler Tucker on Breakdown.  Will this be yet another draw?  Or worse yet, a loss?  Or will Angelica finally get her act together and pull out a victory?  Time will tell.  But Kayla is here to make sure her sister’s mind is right.

The Sisterhood as a whole needs to get its act together.  At least, that’s what Kayla thinks.  Angelica needs to win Shot of Adrenaline and as for Kayla, she has goals of her own.  She wants to be a world champion of some sort.  But if The Sisterhood expects to bring gold back home, then their minds need to be right and Angelica cannot be worrying herself over her personal life.

“Oh for goodness sake quit the primping!”

Kayla shouts this, for she is finally growing tired of her sister primping and preening in front of the full length mirror, admiring herself.  Kayla throws her arms up into the air, showing her frustration.

“You look fine!”

Kayla may say this, and say it pretty confidently too, but it doesn’t convince Angelica, who still seems to be unsure of herself.

“I’m not sure.”

“You’re not sure?”

Kayla swings her legs over to the side of the bed and hops up off of the bed.  She walks, still barefoot mind you, over to her sister and shakes her head in disbelief.

“Sis, you look stunning in that dress.”

Angelica nods her head. “I know, Kay, I look great.  This is my favorite dress, it always brings out my inner-beauty.  I’m gorgeous, I know this.  But…”

“But what?”

Kayla asks this while tilting her head to one side and placing her hands on her hips.  Angelica, meanwhile, just shrugs her shoulders.

“I don’t know…”

“You don’t know?!”

“I just…” Angelica’s voice trails off only momentarily “…I just want this to be perfect.”

Kayla rolls her eyes, clearly unimpressed and not quite believing of her sister right about now.  The younger Jones turns and walks back over to the bed where she jumps back on face first.  Angelica frowns.

“What is it?”

Kayla turns over onto her back, snickering. “You.”

“Me?”

Kayla nods her head. “You want this to be soooooo perfect, eh?”

Kayla’s snickering turns into an outright laughter.   Angelica doesn’t take too well to this, as evidenced by the scowl on her face as she folds her arms over her chest.

“What’s so damn funny?”

“You want this to be perfect, but for who?” Kayla asks as she tries to stifle her laughter. “Do you want tonight to be perfect for you or the random guy you pick up and have sex with?”

“It isn’t some random guy.”

“Oh no?” Kayla asks, feigning shock. “Then you’re shacking up with someone you know?  Sean McBride…Andreas Lasiewicz?”

Angelica shakes her head. “No, sis, none o f my former lovers.”

“New ones then!” Kayla grins knowingly. “Are you sleeping with Jake Starr?”

“Jake Starr?!” Angelica blinks furiously. “How the hell do you figure that?!”

“You were enemies with Andreas Lasiewicz and Sean McBride before you had children with either of them.”

Angelica sighs loudly. “Point taken…”

“So then it is one of your ex-lovers?”

“No!”

“Jake Starr?”

“NO!” Angelica shouts loudly.  She takes a few deep breaths before regaining her composure. “No, sis, it’s none of them.”

“Then who are you seeing tonight?”

Angelica smiles, warmly, happily. “Lindsey.”

Kayla is doubtful at first and the skeptical look written across her face tells that story.  But as she gazes deep into her sister’s eyes and notices how serious she appears, notices how much she really means what she says, then Kayla begins to realize that her older sibling Angelica really is going out with Lindsey tonight.  Her eyes grow wide with surprise.  This wasn’t what Kayla expected.  Angelica had been putting  Lindsey off on the back-burner for a long time now, despite their promise to work things out.  Kayla was expecting Angelica to continue ignoring her estranged wife.  Kayla Jones sits up quickly and stares intently at Angelica.

“Lindsey?  As in Lindsey Carter?”

Angelica nods her head. “That’s the one…”

“Lindsey Carter?” Kayla repeats, to which Angelica laughs.

“Yes, Lindsey Carter.  Is there any other Lindsey?”

Kayla shakes her head. “No, I guess not.  It’s just that…”

“Surprised I’m going out with Lindsey?”

“Yeah.”

Angelica walks over and sits down on the edge of the bed next to Kayla.

“I have been thinking long and hard about this, Kay, about our situation, and you were right.”

“I was right?”

Angelica nods her head.

“Yes, you were right.  The Sisterhood has been on a decline as of late and at least part of it is due to me not having my personal shit together.  It’s time I did something about that.”

“So you’re going to try and patch things up with Lindsey?”

“I’m going to try.” Angelica says with a sigh. “I can’t promise anything.  Lindsey and I both have betrayed one another’s trust.  Trust is necessary for any relationship to work.  I have to earn that trust back.”

“What about the other guys?”

Angelica chuckles. “Oh they’ll be there…but Lindsey won’t always be there if I keep pushing her away.”

The elder Jones bows her head. “I just hope I don’t screw this up.”

Kayla pats her on the back. “You’ll be fine, sis.  Trust me.  Just remember, you have a second chance.  Don’t squander it.  Not everyone gets second chances.”

“Still, that does remind me of one other thing we need to discuss.”

“Oh?”

Angelica looks over at Kayla. “Lindsey’s corporation…”

“Oh yeah,” a knowing grin forms across Kayla’s face “I did have my lawyers go over the prenuptial agreement.”

“And?”

“I think you’ll like what they found out.” Kayla teases.

“Tell me!” Angelica exclaims.

“You know how Meagan is.  Her plans are complicated, sometimes too complicated for her own good.  Well this prenuptial agreement she helped you design had several back-up plans built in.  The idea was that, so-long as Lindsey was married to you, she’d have to do what they said, otherwise she could ask for a divorce and thus Meagan got Lindsey’s company.  A back-up plan, in the event you died and that was how the marriage ended, was that still everything went to Meagan.  But the question is, what happens were Meagan to ever become incapacitated or incompetent or even dead?”

Now it’s Angelica’s turn for her eyes to grow wide.  The excitement is growing as Kayla and Angelica lean in closer towards one another.

“Kayla…”

“Meagan didn’t want Lindsey to get anything.  And being the self-centered bitch she is, she doesn’t even trust her own husband or family enough to give it to them.   The contract says everything is left to you.”

“Me?!”

Kayla nods her head. “Yes, you, and wouldn’t you know it, ever since Meagan Collins lost that match in GCW, forcing her to be subservient to Aphrodite Noel, the courts have since decided that she is incompetent and unable to function or make decisions?”

“Oh my God…” Angelica rests her head on her right hand “…I can’t hardly believe this…”

“Believe it!” Kayla remarks loudly. “You now are in sole possession of Meagan’s company.  And so long as Meagan remains incompetent in the eyes of the court, all of Lindsey’s company belongs to you if there is ever a divorce.”

Angelica is breathless and unable to utter any words as she takes this all in.  Kayla rests a hand on her sister’s shoulder.

“You rank right up there with Oprah or Hillary as among the most powerful women in America, if not the world.”

Angelica shakes her head. “Yeah, but that means nothing to me without Lindsey by my side.”

Tyler Tucker versus Angelica Jones in The Shot of Adrenaline Tournament…

…wait a minute!  Didn’t we already see this before?  Or at least a version of this before?  Yes, yes we did.  The Sisterhood did battle with Adrenaline Rush back in September and what I recall is my sister kicking Tucker’s teeth right down his throat and scoring the pin fall victory.

Granted this isn’t about tag team wrestling or tag team titles.  This is just you and her one on one.  But if you think this will be any different, you’re crazy.  If you think you have a chance in this thing then you really have lost what little sense you may have had.

Don’t take this as disrespect.  Take this as me giving you a reality check.  You are not going to beat my sister.  You just don’t have what it takes.  This is just going to be a replay of September 23rd.  This is going to be more points for Angelica Jones and one step closer towards Shot of Adrenaline victory.

Sunlight streams in through a bedroom window on a bright and beautiful day in Boston, Massachusetts.  The warm rays beat down upon the bodies of the lovely and vivacious Lindsey Carter, who is wearing a revealing, skimpy lacy black bra and panty combination, and of her wife and lover, Angelica Jones, who is dressed in a two-piece very provocative black lace panty set complete with garters that lead to fishnet stockings.  The bed the two lovebirds are lying in is a king size bed.  The rest of this room is just as plain as the bed and sheets, with cream colored walls and matching cream colored carpeting.  There is one sole nightstand on Angelica’s side but Lindsey doesn’t seem to care.  They care only about one another at this point in time.

The warmth of the sun's rays eventually give rise to Angelica fluttering her eyes open as she slowly but surely wakes from her slumber.  Gently, so as to not disturb Lindsey, she slides herself out from under her caressing gentle arm, and moves over to the edge of the giant king sized bed.  Jones swings her legs over the sides of the bed and places her feet upon the floor, pausing just for a moment to gain her bearings before pushing herself up onto her feet, standing up to full length.

Angelica begins to slowly, as if in a daze, walk towards the bathroom door.  She stops right at the bathroom door, turning towards a closet, which she opens to reveal a full length mirror on the inside.  This is the same full length mirror she was using earlier to admire herself fully dressed in her black dress, a dress that now lay strewn about roughly on the floor.

The red head gazes at her reflection in the mirror and what she sees pleases her; a beautiful figure of sexy femininity attired in sexy black lace panties and bra.  Jones winks at herself and turns back towards the bathroom door when a low grunting is heard.  She turns to see Lindsey Carter starting to stir, sitting up in bed, and stretching.

“Oh my…” Lindsey’s eyes flutter as she looks across at Angelica and sighs “…did we really sleep together?”

Angelica grins. “We are married, last I checked.”

“Yes, but…” Lindsey shakes her head “…oh I don’t know.  I guess this was just too fast.”

Angelica tilts her head to one side, frowning mainly out of curiosity.  She walks over to the bedside where she joins Lindsey, sitting down at the edge of the bed and gazing deep into her lovely eyes.  In Lindsey’s defense, this wasn’t the plan.  These two had been estranged for quite a long time now, despite still being married, and they had promised to take things slow as they had worked to recapture their love.  Going out on a date would be considered taking it slow but sleeping with that individual is hardly considered taking it slow.  Jones legitimately wants to make things right with Lindsey.  She really does.  She reaches over and places a comforting hand on her wife’s shoulder.

“Are you ok?”

Lindsey sighs and nods her head. “Yeah, I’m fine.”

“I’m not sure I believe you.”

“I don’t know, Angelica.” Lindsey reaches up and wipes a few tears out of her eyes. “This is just…

“…too soon?” Angelica suggests.

“Maybe.”

“I hate to put it like this,” Angelica begins “but if this is too soon, when is it going to be ok?  We promised to try and work things out between the two of us, we promised to try and make this right.  But until tonight we have ignored one another.”

“I know.”

“We have to start somewhere, Linsey.”

Carter nods her head. “I agree, Angelica, but we slept together.”

Angelica smirks. “We’re married.”

“You said that already.” Lindsey says, rolling her eyes.

“Well it’s true, isn’t it?” Angelica remarks. “We ARE married.  Married people normally sleep together.”

“Legally we are married but are we REALLY married?”

Lindsey shoots up out of bed and storms out into the hall.  Angelica gets up out of bed more slowly and joins her out in the hall.  Jones finds Carter leaning over the hall banister, crying.

“What’s wrong?” Angelica asks.

“You!” Lindsey exclaims. “I’m not sure if you actually love me and care about me or if you just want pussy!”

Angelica cringes.  She realizes that perhaps she did take things too quickly, she realizes that perhaps she did take advantage of Lindsey.

“Sorry…”

“Angelica,” Lindsey begins as she turns around to face her wife “yes, we are married, but we never fell in love.”

“Didn’t we?  I thought…”

“You thought wrong.” Lindsey cuts her off.  “It was all a trick, if you recall.  A trick from you and Meagan meant to get my company away from me.”

She pokes a finger at Angelica’s chest. “You took advantage of my emotions and feelings to trick me into signing that prenuptial agreement.”

“Yes, yes I did, and you manipulated me into signing with Silas Mason.”

Lindsey nods her head. “That’s my point.  There is no trust here.”

Angelica frowns as she turns and looks at the now empty bedroom.  She turns and looks back at Lindsey.

“I think we have figured out that whole trust thing…”

Lindsey shakes he head. “Sorry, Angelica, but fucking each other doesn’t mean we have regained trust.  Trust is a lot harder to earn.”

“But we have made a good stride in the right direction, don’t you think?”

“Not really, not when you have your sister’s lawyers pour over the prenuptial agreement in order to guarantee you still get some of my corporate pie in the event of a divorce.”

Angelica’s eyes grow wide with shock.  She certainly wasn’t expecting this.  She thought her sister had covered her tracks and covered her bases rather well.  Apparently she didn’t.  Or maybe Lindsey was more well-connected that she let on?

“Don’t be surprised and don’t ask how I found out.” Lindsey begins. “I have my ways.”

Angelica sighs as she slaps her forehead. “Lindsey…”

“Don’t even try to explain it, Angelica.” Lindsey says, not sounding angry but more disappointed than anything else. “There is no way to explain it.  And that prenuptial agreement that strips me of control of my company in the event of a divorce is exactly why I am having trouble trusting you.  We are married.  Normal married couples do not need a blackmail in order to guarantee the relationship stays together.”

Carter points a finger at Angelica. “And you’ve been sleeping around.”

“How’d you know?”

“Once again…I have my ways.”

Angelica shakes her head. “Fine, I have, but I didn’t think you cared?”

“I don’t.  But how do you think that makes me look AND feel if you’re running around on me behind my back?  This is about TRUST, Angelica, and clearly we do not have it.”

Angelica grabs Lindsey’s head, pulls her in, and plants a passionate kiss on her lips.  Lindsey is clearly surprised by this.

“Wow…that was…good…”

“Listen, Lindsey.” Angelica begins quietly. “You are right, this is about trust, but if you think I’m not trying, if you think I don’t trust you then you’re wrong.  You are dead wrong.”

Angelica wraps her arms around Lindsey in a tight hug. “I trust you, Linds, I trust you every bit as much as I trust my family.  And to prove it, I’ll give you this…”

Angelica breaks the embrace.  Lindsey frowns.

“Give me what?”

“You don’t like me running around on you?  It won’t happen any longer.  I am a monogamist.  One woman is mine and that is you, Lindsey.” She runs her hand through Lindsey’s long dark hair. “And if you ever catch me breaking that promise, everything within my own empire will be signed over to you.”

“You…” Lindsey is in shock “…you what?”

“You have a blackmail of your own.  That’s what I have given you.”

Angelica and Lindsey continue to stare one another down for a long time.  The moment is tense, very tense.  Eventually Lindsey steps in closer to Angelica and their lips meet.  They kiss passionately romantically.  Soon they end up lying on the floor, still kissing…

…what  happens there is left up to the imagination…

Thousands upon thousands of empty seats fill a darkened, empty arena.   There are seats on ground level that lead all the way up to balcony and nose bleed section seats, all of which encircle what appears to be a wrestling ring set up in the center where a lone singular spotlight shines down, creating the only light in this arena at the present moment.  The camera begins to zoom in, getting a closer and closer look at the wrestling ring.  It, too, is empty.

“Shot of Adrenaline Tournament…”

The voice clearly belongs to Angelica Jones, but where is she?  The camera shifts to the entrance ramp and we see the lovely Boston native making her way down the steel ramp way.  The lovely lady is an elegant knee length purple short lace dress that features a sleek form fitting silhouette with a scalloped edge on the V-neckline and sheer long sleeves.  A sprinkle of sequins are scattered throughout to add just the right touch of sparkle.  Her feet are encased in black high heeled sandals.

“Getting off to a fast start is oh so important when it comes to competing in The Shot of Adrenaline Tournament.”

Jones laughs lightly. “Now I will be the first to admit that I did not get off to the fast start I wanted.  Jake Starr and I fought to a time limit draw and he left me lying in the center of the ring.”

She gets to the ringside apron and turns to face the camera. “But at least I have a point.  Which is more than I can say for you, Tyler Tucker.”

Jones turns and heads towards the steel steps.  Angelica walks up the steps and up onto the ring apron.  Angelica steps through the ropes and into the ring.  Angelica heads to the center of the ring and turns to face the camera again.

“Where have you been, Tucker?  The last time I remember seeing you in the ring was back in September.  The Sisterhood did battle with Adrenaline Rush.  We beat you that night in a victory that paved the way for us to become SCW World Tag Team Champions.  And yes, me and Kayla did lose the gold in a four way match to Autumn Valentine and Gable Winchester, but that’s temporary.  We’ll win those belts back given the chance.  The Sisterhood still dominates SCW tag team wrestling.  But what about you?”

Jones shrugs her shoulders. “What about you?!  Seriously.  Since we beat you, Adrenaline Rush has been floundering at the bottom of the tag team division.  Since we beat you, you’ve been on a steady decline.  And you honestly think The Shot of Adrenaline could change your luck?”

Angelica nods her head. “It could. But you have to actually win and that’s something you haven’t been doing much of lately.  I beat you back in September when I kicked your head off your shoulders, damn oh so many others went on to beat you since then, and in the first match of Shot of Adrenaline you LOST to Collin Cole.  What is it my sister said?”

Angelica scratches her chin for a moment before snapping her fingers.

“The name of the game is winning.  That’s what The Sisterhood does best and that’s a skill you seem to be lacking lately, Tucker.  Now you step into the ring against a legend in this business, legendary for two reasons…”

She holds up two fingers “…for starters, I am talented in this ring.  I mean hell, let’s be honest, I own this ring.  In Shot of Adrenaline, I stand in a class of my own.  No one in this tournament comes close to touching me. I am the best.  And as for the other reason I am legendary…”

Jones snickers nastily “…I am legendary in how violent I can be.  There is nothing I will not do in order to get what I want.  I have torn flesh from the bone.  I have broken bodies and spirits.  I have ended careers.  I am the best wrestler, I am the deadliest wrestler, and that alone should scare you to death.  Add to that the fact that I know how you operate because we have danced before, I know your weaknesses, I know where to strike to draw the most blood.”

“Your run in the Shot of Adrenaline Tournament ended before it began, Tyler.  Collin Cole got the ball rolling when he beat your ass and now I am going to drive that stake further into your heart when I drive you straight to hell with a Hot Shot, or maybe I’ll break your back with Angel’s Arch.  It doesn’t matter how I win so long as I win and I continue to march towards my destiny…”

Angelica smirks knowingly “…Shot of Adrenaline victory.”
