Just Keep Winning

==========

You can call me The Golden Goddess, The Dragon, Firestar, or just simply Angelica Jones.  You can call me a stubborn bitch or a piece of shit.  It doesn’t matter what name you want to call me.  One title that you cannot deny me is the title of smartest wrestler in the game.

I have been around the block a time or two.  I have been wrestling for twelve years…twelve damn years and in that time I have done it all, I have fought with the best, I have learned from the best.  I have used my experience and knowledge of the business to help myself grow and mature as an athlete and that knowledge and experience has helped me to become the deadliest wrestler in the world.

The Shot of Adrenaline Tournament is my opportunity to remind the wrestling world, and Supreme Championship Wrestling in particular, just why I am the deadliest wrestler in the world, just why no one compares to me in any way shape or form.  No one can top Angelica Jones once all the chips are on the table.

No one.

When all of the smoke has cleared, when all of the dust has settled I will be the one remaining, I will have my arm raised in victory, and everyone will be asking how I did it.  It doesn’t matter how I did it.  The fact is that I did it.  I won.  I won and everyone else lost.  That is what matters most at the end of the day.

Angelica is leading block two of the Shot of Adrenaline Tournament with six points.  Victories over Chris Cannon and Bolu, both ending rather controversially with disqualifications, started the momentum for The Golden Goddess.  Despite her latest win, a pin fall victory over a very game Ben McCaron, many in the SCW universe have caught onto the game that Angelica Jones is trying to play.  Specifically, one Merrick Wiseman has figured it out and has called out the feisty red-head on her attempts at trickery and deceit, her attempt to use the rules to rack up points by getting her opponents disqualified.

Wiseman accused Jones of turning the tournament into a joke.  Those were his words.  Angelica, though, doesn’t see it that way.  Angelica wants to win and she wants to win by any means necessary.  If that means using manipulation and trickery to advance through the tournament then so be it.  At the end of it all, when all is said and done and all of the smoke has cleared, Angelica knows she will be the last one standing and not Merrick Wiseman.

It won’t be Collin Cole either.

Angelica is set to face Collin Cole on the next edition of Breakdown as part of the Shot of Adrenaline Tournament, another step towards victory.  Cole thus far has zero points to his name.  This is literally the first place against last place in terms of points.  It would be akin to first seed against last seed in a tournament of this magnitude.  But the Boston native knows all too well that when it comes to wrestling, or any other sport for that matter, anyone can beat anybody on any day of the week if they have the right tools and motivation.  Cole is on the SCW for a reason.  He most definitely has the tools.  Does he have the motivation?  He most certainly does.  Cole needs this win or, for all intents and purposes, he may very well be mathematically eliminated from the tournament.  With him having zero points, not having won a match at all in the tournament to date, and Angelica having been undefeated in the tournament thus far, he cannot afford to lose to Angelica Jones right here and right now or she may end his tournament run a little early.

A lot is on the line for Angelica Jones.  The most obvious is a championship.   The winner of this tournament will be the SCW Adrenaline Champion.  Pride is also on the line.  The winner of this tournament will get a lot of bragging rights as this is the first ever Shot of Adrenaline Tournament, the first of its kind in SCW.  But besides the championship opportunity and the pride that goes along with this tournament, there is one other thing on the line that is even more important than that…

…a career.

Angelica Jones had already promised to leave SCW if she doesn’t make it out of the block phase.  Her career in SCW has been marred with disappointment.  No more.  Angelica feels it is time to remind everyone in this company why she is a great athlete, possibly the greatest athlete ever.  In Angelica’s mind if she cannot make it out of the blocks then she doesn’t belong on this roster.  It’s as simple as that in her mind.  And that is why continuing her winning ways against Collin Cole is of vital importance.

It is difficult to focus on the task at hand, though, when your personal life is in an upheaval; and to say that Angelica’s personal life has been in an upheaval would be an understatement.  The red-headed Boston native had a face from her past return to haunt her; a man named Thaddeus Rogers.

Back when Angelica had spent time in a mental hospital it was Rogers who had served as her doctor and later it was Rogers who went to bat for her, who pulled some strings, using his own considerable resources to get her released.  Angelica’s family was pleased that she got to come home, but they had no idea what price she had to pay for her freedom, for it was Thaddeus Rogers who held the fate of Angelica Jones in the palm of his hand.  He could decide if she stays free or she went back behind bars.

Thaddeus Rogers knew Angelica cared a great deal about her family, so much so that she would do anything to make sure she would never again be separated from her family.  He used this knowledge to manipulate her, to get anything he wanted out of her, including sexual favors.

Angelica was forced to be his mistress, his whore, for years.  Angelica endured years of torment and humiliation, realizing that she couldn’t do anything about it.  She literally had no one to turn to and she thought that she may end up stuck in that position for a long time.

Until she received an unexpected reprieve at the hands of her cousin, Monroe Jones.

Monroe Jones is the quieter, calmer Jones.  He always has a good head on his shoulders and has always tried to think things through before leaping to a decision.  This is why it shocked Angelica to the core that Monroe jumped to the conclusion that killing Thaddeus Rogers and making it look like a suicide was the best way to solve Angelica’s problems.  True, Thaddeus is gone and true, Angelica no longer has to worry about being blackmailed.  All is right with the world.  But why would Monroe jump to this conclusion?  What would drive him to that kind of a murderous rage?

He has never had that kind of murderous bone in his body.  And yet that is exactly what he did.  And she seriously doubts that he did it out of love for his family.  Something else is wrong here, something that Angelica cannot quite put her finger on.

Something is wrong with Monroe and, unfortunately, there’s only one person Angelica can think about who may have an idea as to what’s wrong.

Monroe’s sister, Angelica’s cousin Isabelle Jones.

Isabelle Jones has been the black sheep of the Jones family for quite awhile now and it all started when Monroe went to Europe to train for professional wrestling.  While he was overseas, Isabelle made up lies, telling these stories to their parents about how he was wasting his time in Europe, convincing them he was a philanderer, a womanizer, and a criminal.  Without Monroe there to defend himself, the parents believed Isabelle and wrote Monroe out of the will, leaving everything to Isabelle when they died.  Thus Isabelle inherited everything.  Monroe received nothing.

Ever since then the family has not had any contact with Isabelle.  No one forgave her for what she did.  And yet now Angelica finds herself in a position where she must talk to her cousin, where she must try and put the past behind her, because Isabelle may be the only one who knows what’s wrong with Monroe.

As Angelica approaches the front door she can’t help but look from side to side, amazed at the scenery around her.  The beautiful architecture, the floral, the statues, all of this speaks of wealth and luxury.  This isn’t new to The Golden Goddess.  She herself is used to this kind of wealth but the difference is that she earned it through years of wrestling as well as fighting to earn a country music singing career.  Isabelle manipulated her way into this wealth.  She earned nothing.

The Dragon knocks rings the doorbell and waits patiently.  As large as this home is she expects to be kept waiting but, much to her surprise, the door opens rather quickly.  A butler is standing there waiting on her.

“Yes, is Ms. Jones expecting you?”

Angelica rolls her eyes. “My name is Angelica Jones.  I’m her cousin.”

“Ah yes, she told me she was expecting you.” He steps aside and motions for her to step inside. “Please, enter.”

Jones nods her head before stepping inside.  The butler then leads her into the living room area, which is almost as exquisite as the outside with expensive statues and expensive vases with what appears to be expensive flowers.  The butler motions for Angelica towards the sofa and other seats in this luxurious living room.

“Find a seat.  I will inform Ms. Jones that you are here.”

The butler walks away, making his exit.  This expensive living room and the butler and other servants that, no doubt, are roaming around this large estate, an estate much larger than Angelica’s own, is enough to send emotions through her mind.  Not shock, because Angelica is used to this kind of luxury.  She feels disgust because she knows that Isabelle cheated her way to this.  She feels disgust because she realizes that half of this ought to be Monroe’s but he can’t have any of it due to Isabelle’s manipulative ways.

“Do my eyes deceive me?”

Jones looks up to find her cousin, the lovely Isabelle Jones, walking into the room.  Her beautiful feminine form is encased in a tight black dress and matching black high heeled pumps.  It would almost appear as if she wants to show off, as if she wants to gloat.

“Hello Isabelle,” Angelica begins “you look lovely today.”

“Why thank you, Angelica.” Isabelle walks over to Angelica she walks over and embraces her cousin in a hug. “I am so glad that you decided to stop by and see me.”

After the embrace is broken Isabelle frowns. “Too bad your sister won’t speak to me.”

“Can you blame her?  You lied and cheated your way to stealing Monroe’s half of the inheritance!”

Isabelle chuckles. “You call it lying and cheating, I call it being intelligent.  He didn’t have to go to Europe.”

“He was chasing his dream, Isabelle!” Angelica snaps back at her. “Is that so wrong?!”

“No, but he left himself vulnerable and undefended, allowing me to step in and do what I do best.”

“You mean stealing?”

“Again, you call it stealing.  I call it something else.” She shrugs her shoulders. “But why dwell on such horrid things?”

Isabelle motions to the sofa. “Please, sit, let’s have a talk.”

Angelica sits back down on the sofa and Isabelle sits down next to her. “So, Angelica, if you and your sister are sooooo pissed off after what I did to my poor crybaby of a brother, then why is it that Kayla is unwilling to speak to me but YOU are?”

“Fair question.” Angelica nods her head. “The truth is, I need to know something and you may be the only person who knows the answer.”

Isabelle grins knowingly. “Intriguing.”

A maid enters the room carrying a silver tray with two glasses of red wine.  She holds it out to Angelica and Isabelle.  Isabelle takes one and then nods at it.

“Take one, Angelica.  It’s your favorite.”

“Right…” she reluctantly takes a glass “…thanks.”

“Don’t mention it.  Seriously, don’t, because quite honestly, red wine is my favorite as well.”  Isabelle takes a big sip of wine, grinning. “We’re not so different, you know?”

Angelic a frowns. “Oh yes, we are different.”

“How so?”  She asks. “How exactly are we different?  Is it because you are so honest and trustworthy?”

She chuckles, taking another sip of wine. “Give me a break, Angelica.  You lecture and scold me for manipulating my way into stealing Monroe’s half of the inheritance and yet you yourself have cheated and manipulated your way through SCW’s Shot of Adrenaline Tournament.”

“This has nothing to do with the SCW!”

“What’s wrong?  Did I strike a nerve?” Isabelle snickers nastily. “I am right and you know it.  We are both manipulators in our own way.  The way you have managed to get your opponents disqualified damn near every time is evidence of that.  But there are other ways we are similar.”

Angelica folds her arms over her chest and crosses her legs. “Oh please, do tell.”

“We both like the finer things in life.  You were admiring my home, were you not?”

Angelica nods her head.  She cannot deny it. “Yes, yes I was.”

“And we both are quite good at masking our inner grief.”

“Wait a minute…” Angelica tilts her head to one side “…what the hell are you talking about?”

“Forgive me.” She chuckles lightly. “But I thought considering your extensive experience in this matter that you would have known what I was referring to.”

“What do you mean by my extensive experience?”

“Let’s see…” Isabelle stares off into space almost as if deep in thought “…you married your trainer only to divorce him.  You had a child with your next boyfriend only for you to snap and shoot him dead.  You married that angry Polish man and he faked his own death shortly before you two divorced.  You married another wrestler, Sean McBride, and he too faked his own death before you two got a divorce.”

She sets her wine glass down and grins. “Need I go further?”

“No…” Angelica states quietly “…but what does that have to do with you?”

“Oh nothing much, and it shouldn’t bother me as much as it is…”

“What is it?” Angelica presses.

“My estranged husband recently passed away.”

Angelica jumps back, gasping. “Oh my…I had no idea.  I’m sorry, Isabelle.”

She shakes her head. “No, don’t apologize.  I don’t deserve it.  According to you and your sister I am a monster.”

Angelica grabs Isabelle’s hands and squeezes them tightly. “You have made mistakes, Isabelle, a lot of them, and some of them may even be unforgiveable, but no one deserves to have someone they cared for die like that.”

“And that’s the thing, we were trying to work things out.” She laughs lightly. “We were thinking of getting back together.”

“I had no idea you were even married.” Angelica states. “What was his name?”

“Thaddeus.  Thaddeus Rogers.”

I think there are a few individuals in Supreme Championship Wrestling who forget why we are all here.  Allow me to educate them.

We’re not here to shake hands and say “good match!”  We’re not here to say “good luck” or “better luck next time!”  We’re not here to get a long and be all buddy-buddy with one another, we’re not here to be good sports.  We are here to win.

Winning is the name of the game and winning is what I do best.  I make absolutely no apologies for winning by any means necessary.

Merrick Wiseman, you can lecture all you want.  You can tell me about how I’m making this tournament into a joke.  You can cry all day long but the fact remains that I am undefeated in this tournament and that is because I am winning.  And that is no joke.

What is a joke is you if you think I’m going to stop doing things my way.  Another joke is the idea that you can stop me.  See, Merrick, the shot of adrenaline tournament doesn’t g o through you.  It goes through me.  You’re going to find that out eventually, little boy.  Mark my words.  Heed my warning.

Greetings.  I am Isabelle Jones, The Irresistible Vixen and cousin of Angelica Jones.  Now she and I have our differences.  She and I have our differing opinions of what is right and wrong.  The truth is that she and I are not all that different.  We are similar in our approach, we are similar in how our strategic methods.  We utilize intelligence and cunning to get what we want.

Intelligence and cunning is how you get ahead in life at all levels whether it be personal affairs or professional affairs.  Everything is a great big game of chess and Angelica Jones is a chess master extraordinaire.

If you want to get through Angelica Jones, you have to outthink her and outwit her and that is something you just cannot do.    Each and every  time someone thinks that they have Angelica beaten, each and every time someone thinks they have outwitted her, outplayed her in this great game of chess, she always pulls a new move out of her hat that shocks the world, and puts her enemy in checkmate.

This Shot of Adrenaline Tournament is just that…a game of chess…it’s about strategy and the individual who can best strategize their way through this tournament, who can best outwit and outthink their opponents will be the one left standing.

Shot of Adrenaline is built for Angelica Jones.  She was built to win this and win it she will because this is a thinking sport, and the best thinker, the master of strategy herself, is none other than Angelica Jones.

The Golden Goddess is feeling more than just a little upset after meeting with her cousin Isabelle Jones.  Learning that Isabelle was connected with Thaddeus Rogers was enough to send shivers up her spine and it also instills a fear, a fear that this nightmare may not be over after all.  But what exactly is her agenda?  What does she want out of Angelica?  Finally, and most importantly, what exactly does Isabelle know?  Does she know as much as Thaddeus knew?

Jones is in a bar, a shot of vodka is in front of her.  She stares at it emptily as she waits.  And waits.  Eventually the sound of someone clearing their throat causes her to stir to attention.  She turns and looks up to find her good friend Brittany Lohan and a male figure she hasn’t seen before.

“Oh, hi Britt.” Angelica smiles politely. “Is that Deacon Cross?”

Britt nods. “Yes it is. Deacon, this is Angelica.”

Deacon extends his hand for a handshake. “A pleasure.”

Angelica accepts the handshake. “It’s nice to finally meet you.  Britt has certainly sung your praises.”

“Just doing what I was born to do, that’s all.” Deacon humbly says.

“Well I look forward to seeing what you can dig up on Thaddeus.” Jones remarks quietly. “But first, why don’t you two find a seat and get a drink?  It’s on me.”

“Sure. After you Ms. Lohan.” Deacon says to Brittany.

“For the 100th time, it’s Brittany. Lets go.” Britt shrugs.

Angelica waves over to the bartender who approaches and waits.  “My friends here would like to place drink orders.  Put it on my tab.”

Brittany and Deacon have found a table near the bar. They are patiently waiting on Angelica to join them. Angelica walks over and sits down next to them at the table.

“While we wait, I learned something rather interesting myself about Thaddeus.”

“Oh?” Brittany inquires.

“Have you kept up with twitter?  Have you seen my cousin Isabelle pop back up?”

“I noticed.”

“Yeah, well apparently Thaddeus was her estranged husband.”

Brittany chuckles. “Story of your life, huh?”

“Yeah, but this adds a whole new dimension to this situation.” Angelica sighs. “Not only do I need to find out as much about Thaddeus Rogers as possible, but I also need to know how much Isabelle knows.”

Angelica motions to herself. “How much she knows about me.  If Thaddeus told her anything, then I very well could be in the same situation.  Isabelle is a monster.”

“In all fairness, aside from Kelly.. what Jones woman isn’t a monster?” Brittany says coldly.

“Kayla.” Angelica shakes her head sadly. “Kayla is no monster.  She is a saint.  She deserves better than me.”

“Dawn used to be a saint too. Abigail wasn’t that bad. I screwed them both up.” Britt remarks sadly.

“Isabelle is a different kind of monster altogether.” Angelica begins slowly.  “You and me, we do our thing directly.  We bust the enemy in the mouth.  Isabelle manipulates. Lies. Cheats.”

She chuckles. “Isabelle is like Silas Mason with boobs and a vagina.  Hell, she’s more manipulative than him.  She manipulated her own brother out of his entire inheritance.”

“Like Silas you say? Sounds like I need to break her face. I was an idiot signing that damn contract. I wasn’t focused. All I wanted was to be reunited with Harmony. At the rate I’m going Silas will do to me what he did to Kelcey. I might face Derek Adonis the rest of my SCW career. I could always bust him in the mouth. He’ll make sure I don’t work again. I don’t care. It’s not about him anymore. It’s about me. If he wants to ensure I don’t work again, fine. I’ll go back to prison, he can’t touch me there.”

Brittany balls up her fist... “Sorry.. this is about your problems. Not mine.”

“No, no, don’t apologize.” She smiles. “It’s ok.  I mean, you’re already helping me out a great deal here, and I’m not sure what I can do in return but if I can help you out in some way, I would like to  help.”

“Thanks.” Britt finally cracks a smile. “I’ll find a way out of my contract. Can’t use the Kelcey excuse. I knew what I signed. There’s a way. And I will find it. Until then..” Brittany pats Deacon on the shoulder. “My man here is making progress. When he has more concrete information we’ll get you out of this. You won’t go back to the asylum. Promise.”

“Thank you, Britt.  I’m just shocked still to learn that Isabelle had a connection to Thaddeus.  And now I have to wonder, whatever Deacon has found out about him...is Isabelle connected to that as well?”

Angelica takes a sip of her vodka. “Well it’s enough to make you want to just drink your problems away.”
“Agreed.” Brittany nods. “Will our lives ever be devoid of complications?”

Deacon finally decides to chime in. “Ladies, everything I assure you will work out for the best. Brittany, I will find a way to get you out of the Silas Mason situation. Angelica, I will find enough ammunition to prevent you from suffering an undesired consequence. There is always a way out. When all else fails, there is always a Plan B. I am Plan B.”

Angelica grins sadly. “I have a feeling I know what that means.  And that’s another thing our lives will never be without, right Britt?   Violence.  Death, sometimes.”

“I know.” Britt sighs.

“Well,” she holds up her glass “here’s to freedom from our respective situations and eventual happiness down the road?”

“I’ll drink to that.”

Angelica Jones is leading Block B. And you doubted her?

I won’t be a hypocrite. I voiced my displeasure over Twitter how she claimed four of the six points. That’s just because I know Angelica doesn’t need to DQ her way through the finals. This is the same woman who made me pass out back in 2009. I never once questioned her ability. We have a different set of standards on how we claim victory. She is a winner. Always has. My situation with Silas is murky. I likely won’t wrestle in this town again. Or any town. I will always support my best friend. Ex fiance. Part time lover, Angelica Jones.

Cole. I keep hearing he will finally break out as the man to watch. All I see is a man who has no shot at winning the tournament. He has nothing to fight for, except pride. That’s not worth much these days. Sorry Cole. Breakdown you will serve as another reminder to why Angelica Jones (NOT SILAS WORLD) is the end all be all of this tournament.

Go get’em Angel.

Clicking of heels is heard in the background.  A feminine figure emerges from over the horizon.  Closer and closer she comes until we can finally make out the long red hair that cascades down to just below her shoulders.  It’s Angelica Jones.  She is wearing sunglasses over her eyes, a tight form fitting black dress with a hemline that stops just below the knee, and matching high heeled pumps.  The red-head stops just in front of the camera.  A frown is on her face.

“Aww, the poor babies of Supreme Championship Wrestling are upset over little old me?”

Angelica chuckles as a rather smug grin forms across her face. “Too bad!  It’s just too damn bad!  Clearly certain people on the SCW roster have a different philosophy of this sport than I do.  Their philosophy is good sportsmanship.”

She shakes her head. “Sorry, Merrick, but sportsmanship is washed up.  Out of style.  Winning is what this is about and winning is what I do best.”

She points a long slender finger at the camera. “Which brings me to you, Collin Cole.”

“I have some statistics that you need to listen to, Cole.  Listen and listen good.  Three…” she holds up three fingers “…that’s right, three.  Three matches and three wins and one of those wins was against the great Chris Cannon, former champion in multiple companies and a recent world title challenger.  And we can’t forget Bolu, the sleepy bear or golden lion, whatever you want to call him…fact is, he got beat too.  And most recently there was Ben McCaron.”

She shakes her head in disgust. “The little boy never stood a chance.”

She snickers nastily. “As you can see, Collin, I am a winner.  That’s what I do best.  And that is what I have been doing throughout this Shot of Adrenaline Tournament.  I win and I win by means necessary.  If I have to outthink and outwit my opponents, then that’s what I’ll do.  If I have to physically beat them until they cannot get back up, then that’s what I’ll do.  If I have to inflict so much pain and torture that they have no choice but to give up then that is what I will do.  But however it happens, the end result is always the same…”

“…I always win.”

Angelica sighs. “But what about you, Collin?  Let’s see, first up for you was William Mason and you…lost.”

She holds up two fingers. “Number two was Chris Cannon…who I beat by the way…but how did you fare against him?”

She shakes her head, making tsk tsk sounds. “You laid a big fat egg.  You lost.”

Jones holds up three fingers. “Next up for you was Merrick Wiseman.  I’ll take care of Wiseman later on down the road but how did you do against him?  Oh hell, I don’t even need to ask do I?  You…got…BEAT!”

“Therein lies the difference between you and me, Cole.  I always win and lately, it seems, you always lose.  You have zero points so far and I have six.  And it goes beyond that.  Mathematically speaking you need this win.  Mathematically speaking you are to the point where you cannot afford any further losses.”

Angelica pulls off her sunglasses and tosses them aside. “And here you are, in this big of a situation, with so much on the line, you now have to face me.”

She laughs nastily. “You really do have some shitty luck, Cole.  You could’ve drew anyone else, ANYONE, and you would have had a better chance at staying alive.  But as it stands, you have a major mountain to climb.  You have to stare into the eyes of The Dragon.  You have to go face to face with The Dragon.”

“Are you prepare for that?  Are you ready for that kind of challenge?  Many have challenged The Dragon but few have walked away from it and none have walked away unscathed.  You have to be prepared to make a sacrifice.  But me?”

She grins knowingly.  “All I have to do is continue to do what I do best…all I have to do is keep winning.”
