The Tempest

==========
Scene 1
Off Camera
==========

Retribution, specifically the semi-finals of The Shot of Adrenaline Tournament, didn’t go quite the way Angelica Jones had hoped as she ended up losing to Selena Frost.  But despite all of that, despite not walking out of Retribution as the new SCW Adrenaline Champion, Angelica feels quite proud of her accomplishment.  Jones proved her naysayers and critics wrong and, more importantly, she proved herself wrong.  She proved to herself that she still had it in her to get the job done, this late in her career; for Jones went through seven matches to advance into the semi-finals of the whole thing.  Sixteen people started the tournament and Angelica was one of the last four still standing.  Angelia Jones is more confident than ever that her career in professional wrestling will come to an end at a time of her choosing, no one else’s.

Now, with this newfound confidence, she is set to engage in what has to be viewed as fallout from The Shot of Adrenaline Tournament as Angelica Jones of Silas World tag teams with the Adrenaline Champion and tournament winner Red Rayne of New Eden to face Dawn Lohan and Selena Frost.

You might think that this tag team match would put Jones and Rayne at a disadvantage, considering they are part of rival factions in the form of Silas World and New Eden respectively, but the two sadistic and violent women do share a common bond: their mutual hatred of Selena Frost.  Angelica is definitely willing to overlook the whole Silas World/New Eden differences for one night if it means obliterating Selena Frost.

The other factor to consider is the fact that Dawn and Selena have not been getting along lately.  Not only have the two bitterly separated ex-lovers been at each other’s throats lately, but Dawn herself has been getting just a little more cozy with Angelica’s tag team partner Red Rayne.  So in other words, what is being booked and billed as a tag team match pitting Lohan and Frost against Jones and Rayne could turn into a three on one scenario.

Jones has to wonder who Selena pissed off to get herself booked in this particular match.

Angelica should be thrilled about this tag team match, this singular and rare opportunity to potentially put an end to someone who hasn’t necessarily been a thorn in her side but has definitely been a major league nuisance for a couple of months now.  At the very least Angelica should be getting her mind focused and ready for this wonderful opportunity granted to her by the SCW management.

The problem is that she has another, more pressing crisis to deal with now.  One that she had hoped would stay in the Jones household and out of the public eye, or at the very least stay in the IWC would it could be isolated and dealt with there.  But now that problem has made her way to the shores of Supreme Championship  Wrestling.

That problem is none other than her daughter Jessica Lasiewicz.

It isn’t that Angelica thinks her daughter personally is a problem.  Nothing of the sort.  Angelica loves her children, all three of them, and would do absolutely anything and everything for them.  Jones would move mountains and sacrifice her own well-being in order to maintain her children’s well being.  That’s just the kind of mother Angelica is and it is that kind of love and devotion that Angelica knows could potentially draw her and the entire family into a war that they do not want, one that could potentially destroy the Jones family.

It began in IWC when Jessica Lasiewicz walked through hell to try and convince her sister, Marie Annabelle Jones, to drop Ethan Von Aaron and Samantha Hodgson as her agents.  Eventually she did drop them both, only to sign with Silas Mason instead.  Now Jessica Lasiewicz, stubborn as ever just like any other Jones woman, is continuing the same quest, only this time trying to convince Marie to leave Silas World.  That quest has now brought her to Supreme Championship Wrestling where young Jessica took things a step further by openly declaring war upon Silas World.

Will Silas really take a 21-year-old’s declaration of war seriously?  Angelica doesn’t think so.  Not when he has bigger fish to fry such as bringing the SCW World Championship to Silas World, preferably around the waist of his new franchise Sienna Swann.  But the fact that Jessica did issue the declaration of war puts Angelica in an awkward position.

Personally, Angelica has found that signing with Silas Mason has been the best business decision she has ever made.  She won three world titles since signing with Silas and made it to the final four of the Shot of Adrenaline Tournament.  Silas Mason revitalized her career in many ways.  She would not want to leave Silas World but if he ever tried to harm her child, if she was put into a position where she had to choose, she knows she would choose to protect her child in a heartbeat.

Jones cannot say the same for Marie, on the other hand.  Since signing with Silas Mason, Angelica’s oldest daughter has won the GCW Global Heavyweight Championship, the IWC World Tag Team Championship, the GFC World Tag Team Championship, and has become number one contender to the IWC World Heavyweight Championship.  Marie may choose Silas World over her own family and Angelica would be hard-pressed to blame her.  That is a lot of success.  A lot of money.  A lot of gold.

A war with Silas Mason is challenging enough even if the Jones Family were united.  That much is true just by looking at what Kelcey Wallace and Taylor Chase have both had to deal with.  But a war with Silas Mason when the Jones Family is divided against itself would prove too much and Angelica knows it.

This is a problem that needs to be stopped before it can grow any further.

The red-headed Dragon of Silas World is making a beeline towards the backstage area of the NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas, the facility that is playing host to the southeastern brackets of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament.  If Duke can continue to win then they will be playing several games here in this stadium.  A factoid known only to very close family members is that Jessica Lasiewicz moonlights as a cheerleader for the Duke Blue Devils, as part of a bet she lost with a good friend of hers who happens the captain of said squad.  Angelica knows this is where she can find her daughter and try and talk some sense into her.

Jones, wearing a black maxi skirt, black high heeled pumps, red blouse, and her signature black leather jacket with her long red hair left to flow unrestrained to shoulder length, is making a beeline towards a particular room.  This room has many women, some in their street clothes some still in cheerleader uniforms, and others in adidas windpants and t-shirts, come walking out.  Figuring this must be where she needs to go Angelica heads to the door but an older woman, perhaps a coach, steps in front of her.

“Excuse me, ma’am,” she begins, ignoring the fact that Angelica is glaring a hole right through her “but the cheerleaders are still in there.”

“I know this.  That’s why I’m going in.”

She shakes her head. “I’m sorry, but you can’t.”

“Repeat that.” Angelica states firmly, definitively.

“I said you cannot go inside.  I’m sorry, Miss…”

“Jones.” Angelica repeats, growing frustrated and angrier by the moment.

“I’m sorry then, Miss Jones, but you can’t go in.”

“Did you not hear me?” Surprise now enters her voice, surprise that this woman didn’t recognize her. “My name is Jones.  As in Angelica Jones.”

She points at the daughter. “My daughter is in there.”

“Oh…” the woman blushes red with embarrassment “…I didn’t realize.”

“Obviously.”

“Well there are only two more of the girls still in there.  So I guess you can go inside.  I apologize, Ms. Jones.”

“Yeah…”

No further words are exchanged as Angelica pushes past the woman and pushes her way through the door.  Stepping over the threshold and out into the center of the room she scans the area but finds it empty.  Benches for sitting are all over the place and lockers line nearly every wall but there is no one inside.  Angelica is about to go back out and give that woman a piece of her mind until…

“Mom?!”

Angelica turns to see two women emerging from the bathroom area of this locker room.  Both are black haired beauties in blue jeans, sandals, and simple t-shirts.  One of the two happens to be Jessica Lasiewicz, Angelica’s daughter.  The other girl looks familiar to Angelica but she cannot quite place her.

“What are you doing here?” Jessica asks, still rather confused to find her mother here.

“Aren’t you going to introduce me to your little friend?” Angelica asks, motioning to the other girl standing next to her.

“Oh, yeah sorry…” she motions to the other girl “…mom, this is Candra Stevens.  Or just Candi for short.  Candi, this is my mother, Angelica Jones.”

“Nice to meet you, Ms. Jones!”

Candi looks genuinely excited as she extends her hand out, offering a shake, but Angelica doesn’t reciprocate.  She just stares down at the hand for several moments before looking away from Candi and turning her full and undivided attention towards her daughter Jessica.  Candi uneasily grins as she lowers her hand away.

“Jessica, we need to talk.”

“Now?  It must be something real important for you to fly out after the SCW House Show to have this conversation with me.”

“It is important.” Angelica says with a nod of her head. “It could mean the very survival of our family.”

“You’re melodramatic.”

“…says the girl who used special effects lightning, smoke, and mirrors against Tina Valentina and The Slay Revolution over in IWC.  Don’t lecture me on being melodramatic, Jess.  In fact, don’t lecture me on anything.  I am your mother.”

Jessica shakes her head. “That doesn’t always mean you’re right and that doesn’t mean I cannot speak up against what I think is wrong!”

“Silas World is NOT wrong…” Angelica sighs, shaking her head.

“They’re damn sure not right!” Jessica exclaims. “Look at what Silas Mason has done to you!”

Candi Stevens has been taking this all in so far.  She’s feeling more and more uncomfortable by this whole situation of mother and daughter arguing.  But she continues to remain silent, at least for now, watching and taking it all in.

“Do you want to know what Silas Mason has done to me?  He got me several more championship runs.  He helped me get ownership of Pro-Wrestling FRONTIER.  I made it to the semi-finals of Shot of Adrenaline and I made Selena Frost tap out.  My career has been revitalized thanks to Silas Mason.”

“Revitalized?  I’m not sure I’d describe it that way.  Speaking of Selena, though, I can tell that Silas has changed you.”

Angelica frowns. “What’s that supposed to mean?”

“I think you know damn well what I mean.”

“Jessie, please…” Candi’s voice trails off “…that’s your mother.”

“No, let her talk.” Angelica snaps back.  “What do you mean, Jessica?”

“You don’t like Selena Frost.  I get that.  I find her annoying, myself.  But you’re going to work together with those monsters of New Eden just so you can take her apart?  You’re going to work with Red Rayne?”

“What do you expect me to do?” Angelica asks. “Throw the match?”

“I expect my mother to do what’s right.”

“What’s right doesn’t matter.” Angelica shakes her head vehemently. “I am not going to throw away a match all for the sake of what’s right.”

“Excuse me, Ms. Jones,” Candi steps in between Angelica and her daughter Jessica “but I think Jessica has a point.”

Jones doesn’t like anyone trying to lecture her or tell her what to do.  Hearing her daughter’s friend now try and play peacemaker doesn’t set well with her.  She turns to face Candi Stevens and glares angrily down at her.

“If you want to get on my good side, Ms. Stevens, I would advise you not to talk to me like that.”

Candi now looks genuinely concerned but Jessica walks right over and places a hand on her shoulder.

“Look, Candi, maybe you should step outside and wait for me.  I won’t be much longer.”

Candi nods her head. “Ok, Jess.  Just, be careful…”

With that she turns and walks past Angelica and exits the room.  Angelica though looks surprised as she turns back to face Jessica.

“Be careful?”  Angelica asks. “I’m just your mother, Jessica.  I may be angry with you right now but I won’t hurt you.  Why would she think you need to be careful?”

“You have never met Candi before, am I right?”

Angelica nods her head. “That’s right, but what’s that got…”

“Candi had been abused by her father.” Jessica remarks. “She only just recently got away from him and is now staying with me.  She learned the hard way what happens when she spoke out against her father and she’s worried you’d do the same to me.”

Angelica snickers. “Does she not consider the fact that you are a trained wrestler?  Hell, not just a trained wrestler, but a Lasiewicz?  If you didn’t take me down, then your father would.”

The mother-daughter pair share a laugh that, surprisingly, lightens the mood.  “More than that.  He’d gut you like fish.”

Again they laugh, even at such a macabre suggestion.  “Looks like my first meeting with your friend didn’t go so well, did it Jess?”

Jessica shakes her head. “No, no it didn’t.  But now that we thoroughly scared her half to death, can we actually talk like normal people?”

Angelica nods. “Yes, I think we should.  And I’m sorry for the way I spoke, Jess.  I’m just afraid, that’s all.”

“Afraid of what?”

“Not of what, of who.” Angelica remarks. “Silas Mason.”

Jessica sighs. “Of course…”

“I am happy to have you here with me in Supreme Championship Wrestling.  I truly am.  And I was thrilled to watch you compete against Arcadia Chavez on Breakdown.  That was a great win for you.  But your promo for that match did not go unnoticed.”

Jessica grins knowingly. “Well good…I want the SCW roster to know exactly where I stand.”

“It isn’t good, Jessica.” Angelica says, trying to keep her voice down while at the same time growing frustrated with her daughter. “You issued a declaration of war against Silas World.  That is NOT good.”

“I think it’s a good idea that Silas Mason finally knows where I stand and that I am to be taken seriously.”

“Thankfully for you he isn’t taking you seriously just yet.” Angelica begins. “If he ever does start to take you seriously then he has every resource available to send an army after you.”

“That’s fine,” Jessica says, sounding rather confident “tell him to bring it on.  I welcome the challenge.”

“No, you don’t.” Angelica shakes her head. “You do not want that.”

“I have dealt with factions before.”

“You dealt with Slay Revolution.  That is child’s play compared to Silas World and if he sends Silas World after you then I CANNOT protect you, Jessica.”

“Cannot or will not?” Jessica asks.

“Cannot.  I cannot protect you against Silas Mason.”

“Ok, so let me get this straight, the great and deadly dragon is afraid of one guy?”  Jessica shakes her head, chuckling under her breath. “I’m calling bullshit on that one, mom.”

She places a hand on Angelica’s shoulder. “Tell me the truth.”

Angelica sighs. “Look, Silas Mason may not go after you.  He doesn’t exactly view you as a threat yet.  But he’s also not a good man.  That much I know.  If he ever DID start to view you as a threat, if he ever DID see you as worthy of his time, I can tell you that he will throw anything and everything at you, Jessica.”

“So?  Like I said, I’ve dealt with that.”

“No, you haven’t.” Angelica remarks. “Did you hear when I said he would throw anything…and everything…at you?”

“Yes, I heard…” Jessica’s voice trails off as she finally figures it out “…wait a minute, you mean…?”

“I was not kidding when I said this war you want has the potential to destroy our family.  You’re setting yourself up against your sister and I am confident she wouldn’t leave Silas.  She’s thrilled with how he’s managed her career so far and I can’t blame her.  She holds three championships right now in three different companies.”

Jessica points a long slender finger at Angelica. “What about you?”

Tears form in the eyes of Angelica Jones, tears which she wipes away with her right hand. “Do you even have to ask, Jess?”

“Yes, quite frankly I do.  You’re willing to set right and wrong to one side and work with Red Rayne and New Eden just to maim Selena Frost.  Silas Mason has changed you, mother, so yes I do have to ask.”

“Selena Frost is different.  This is a match, a tag team match pitting me and Red against Frost and Dawn.  If it were me and Selena as partners instead then I would work together with her.  I would hate it.  I would not like it.  But I would grin and bear it for the one night for the one match to make sure we won.  Afterwards would I beat the hell out of Selena?”  She nods her head. “Damn right I would.  But as it is, SCW management, in all of their infinite wisdom, chose to make Red Rayne as my tag team partner.  Our opponents are Selena Frost and Dawn Lohan.  This is a match.  It’s just business.  Selena Frost, Dawn Lohan, Red Rayne, they are all nothing to me.  Just fellow competitors.  I just happen to be competing with them on Breakdown.”

Angelica embraces Jessica in a tight hug. “But you’re my daughter.  Everything with you is personal and let me assure you right here and right now that no matter what happens I will always be there for you.  I will walk through the fires of hell itself for your well being, Jessica.”

She releases the embrace and looks into Jessica’s eyes. “And that’s what I’m afraid of.  I’m afraid you are going to bring down the fires of hell upon yourself and you don’t realize it.  Then I will have to choose and I don’t want to have to choose, not because the choice is difficult.  It really isn’t.  The choice is an easy one to make.  I will choose you every time.”

She shakes her head. “But I do not look forward to the potential war that comes, Jessica.”

“That’s…” Jessica sighs “…that’s understandable.”

“So you understand where I’m coming from?”

Jessica nods her head. “Yes, yes I do.  But you need to understand that I cannot stand by and just let my sister continue down this path she’s on.”

“Marie made her choice.”

“Yes and it is a very bad one.” Jessica snaps back. “And I want to drive that fact through her thick skull before it bites her in the ass!”

Angelica pauses momentarily, taking it all in before finally nodding her head. She even lets out a slight smile from that face full of frustration and angst.

“At least my children care for each other…there is that silver lining…”

“That’s right, I care for Marie and I will do anything to protect her.” Jessica states definitively. “So what do you want me to do when I see Marie making these bad decisions, decisions that will get her killed?”

“Fine…go after Marie all you want.  Talk to her all you want.  Target her all you want.” She shakes her head. “But try to avoid targeting the other interests of Silas Mason.  If you avoid everything else and focus on her and only her, then maybe he’ll continue to ignore you.”

Jessica studies her mother for several moments. “You really are afraid, aren’t you?”

Angelica shrugs her shoulders. “Maybe I am?”

“And that’s why you couldn’t win Shot of Adrenaline.”

“What’s this about?”

“A war is coming, mom.  It may not be against Silas World, it may be against New Eden or the megalomaniacal faction of the month who wants to take over professional wrestling, but a war IS coming, and if you aren’t ready for it then you won’t survive.  You have had your career revitalized as of late, I admit, but you need to realize that it is YOU and YOUR strength that revitalized it.  The Jones fighting spirit revitalized your career, not Silas Mason.  Leaning on the crutch of Silas Mason is why you lost to Selena Frost at Retribution.  And if you want to get back to the top then you need to remember who you are.”

Angelica forces a smile upon her face. “Thanks, kiddo…I needed to hear that…”

Selena, you and I did not exactly get off on the right foot.  I accept some responsibility, I do have a nasty temper, but the biggest part of it has to do with you being completely unable to comprehend someone who might happen to view other things, such as family, as being more important than championships.  I will always put my family ahead of championship glory.  And even though you and I may disagree on our priorities in this business, I do hope that we can start with a blank slate now that I am on the roster here in Supreme Championship Wrestling.

All that being said, I do pity you, Selena.  Clearly someone must hate you or you really pissed someone off because you have been booked in the worst possible scenario…

My mother is pissed and wants your head on a pike.  My mother is very dangerous and when she loses her temper, when that dragon comes out, no one is safe, especially not the person she’s targeting and that happens to be you.

Red Rayne is one of the most dangerous wrestlers in this sport and she’ll be working with my mother on Breakdown.  From the looks of things, they are actually getting along rather nicely.  They aren’t imploding like I thought they would.  That’s not good for you.

Finally there’s your tag team partner.  Dawn Lohan.  Now I like Dawn and I feel pity for her as well.  This is not a good situation for her either. Only thing is, you and Dawn aren’t exactly getting along right now, are you?

Needless to say, I’m not telling you something that you don’t already know.  I wouldn’t be giving you a surprise either by telling you that this could end up being two on one handicap or even, worst case scenario, three on one handicap if Dawn just turned on you.

Hopefully, for your sake, she won’t.  Hopefully you can work as well together as I think Red and Angelica will.  The Shot of Adrenaline Tournament that you four competed in was amazing to watch and I know a good, competitive tag team match between you four would be another treat.

I’m a realist, though.  Most think of me as a pessimist but I consider myself a realist.  Realistically I do not see that happening.  Realistically, I see Breakdown as being a very bad night for you.

Good luck.

You’ll need it.

==========
Angelica Jones
On Camera
==========

We open in a very luxurious hotel suite.  The door that leads to one (yes one, there are two) of the bathrooms is open as we scan through the room.  We see a comfortable red sofa, a coffee table, and two comfortable matching red chairs.  We continue to scan through this hotel suite and we see a large wide screen television set.  The television set is currently playing highlights of the Shot of Adrenaline semi-finals and finals from Retribution.  Just as we start to scan away from the television set the tv is turned off.  We turn around and see a king sized bed.  Lying in the bed is none other than Angelica Jones.  Only her head is poking out so we do not know what (if anything) she has on underneath those covers.

“Good morning everyone!” She looks over towards the window at the night sky, then back over at the camera and shrugs. “Fine…goodnight, then!  Or as my daughter would say in Polish…dobranoc!”

She snickers. “Back in the day, my old homeplace, Global Division of Wrestling, had a regional indy fed it owned named Southeastern Wrestling Conference.  The president of SWC, a man named Rick Young, absolutely loved to book what he called ‘Strange Bedfellow Matches’ in which he’d intentionally pair up people who really shouldn’t be paired up into tag teams.  Maybe he did it for shits and giggles?”

“But do you know here the term strange bedfellows comes from?  It was invented by William.” She shakes her head. “No, not William Mason if you were wondering.  It was invented by William Shakespeare, specifically through his play The Tempest when he said ‘misery acquaints a man with strange bedfellows.’”

“I think Mr. D is either a fan of William’s…Shakespeare’s, not Mason’s…and is trying to pay tribute to the inventor of the strange bedfellow idiom or maybe Mr. D is just a sick and twisted son of a bitch.  In which case I really gotta say I like that in a man.”

She ducks her head underneath the covers again for a few moments before popping back up. “No, he’s not under here thank God!”

“But if Mr. D is offering up a tribute to William Shakespeare, then I have to ask, what sort of misery is making bedfellows of me and Red Rayne?  I think that one is painfully obvious in the form of the bitch from Frozen.”

She playfully waves at the camera. “Hi, Selena!”

“But first let me address my tag team partner with the oh so wonderful hair!  First of all, how can I not just adore someone who takes red hair to that level?  You’re redder than me!” She gives a playful thumbs up at the camera.

“Red hair aside, it is very honest and understandable for any clear thinking observer to ask whether or not you and I can get along and work together as a functioning unit inside that wrestling ring.  Let’s face it, I represent Silas World and you represent New Eden.  But playing for different teams never stopped any good writer from ‘shipping’ two characters together.  And let me tell you, William Shakespeare was an expert at shipping.  He is the one who put Romeo and Juliet together after all.”

“In this game of strange bedfellows it’s you and I who have been shipped by the almighty authors of this story to be a tag team and unlike the team of Romeo and Juliet I am quite confident that our union, temporary as it may be, will not end in our suicides.  In fact, I’d go as far as to say that we will blow the hell out of our competition on Breakdown.”

“And you can trust me, Red.  Do you want to know why?  I have been in this sport for a VERY long time.  On social media I can be all happy go lucky and fun and games with my silly antics, even on camera promos I can have a good time with my audience, but when that bell rings I immediately transition to a consummate professional.  When that bell rings I am all business.  Yes, I have my own agendas, but doesn’t everybody in this sport?  But my agenda, Red, is winning.  I will do whatever I have to do in order to win.  You do not have to worry about me and you being on the same page at Breakdown.  There is not a soul alive today who I hate so much that I would sacrifice losing a match over if we were forced to team together and that includes Frosty McSnowBitch across the ring from us at Breakdown.”

“And I’m not teaming with her.” She points a long slender finger at the camera. “I’m teaming with you.  I personally hold no grudge against you.  I have nothing against you.  We are tag team partners and I will hold up my end of the bargain because at the end of the day I always want to win.”

“But if my word isn’t enough then all you have to do is once again revisit William Shakespeare.  Misery will make strange bedfellows right?  Well our mutual misery…or perhaps enemy is a better term…is none other than Selena Frost.  I hate her, you hate her, we have that much in common.  We both want to see her head mounted on a pike.  We are on the same page.”

“And I get that you and Dawn have something going on with each other, friendship or otherwise, I don’t know, I don’t care, but I can assure you that I will always be there for the Lohan family if they need me.”

She grins from ear to ear. “That’s right, Dawn, I have no gripes with you, I have no issue with you.  It sucks that you got paired up with Frosty McSnowBitch.  I hate it that she’s harassing you.  Part of me wishes, for your sake, this whole strange bedfellow thing could have happened in reverse.  In other words I could have been made to tag team with Frosty and you would get to tag team with mommy.”

She laughs lightly. “Sorry, Dawn, but I couldn’t resist.”

“In any event, it is what it is and looking back, that part of me that wishes things were different is just a small, tiny voice in my head right now.  The master strategist, the thinker inside me is looking at this situation, is sizing up this situation, and what it sees is a rare opportunity for all three of us.”

“I hate Selena.  Red hates Selena.  And I think based on social media banter alone that there is part of you that still hates Selena.  We could punish her, Dawn.  You realize this?  We could really punish her big time.  Like I said, Mr. D may very well be a sadistic bastard because he tagged Selena up with her ex-lover, a woman Selena has been openly hostile to lately, maybe not physically but definitely in other ways.   And their opponents are two of the most dangerous women in the game, both of whom hate Selena.”

“It isn’t hard to do the math.  It also isn’t hard to consider the logic of trying to fight this.  I know you and Red have some sort of respect for one another now but I also know she is a consummate professional like me.  We both want to win.  Based on that common ground alone we will work together like a well-oiled machine.  Can you honestly say the same about you and Selena?”

“Don’t give me any garbage about 4Saken, either.  Don’t give me any garbage about your former relationship with her because you know in your heart and soul that it means nothing.  It might mean something if you could quit squabbling and, in your defense Dawn, I don’t think you’re the one provoking it.  I think Selena is a self-centered egomaniacal bitch.  And I should know, I AM a self-centered egomaniacal bitch!”

Again she laughs. “She is the type of person that she has to be right and everyone else is wrong.  That is who Selena Frost is and that is why you two are still arguing.  Her toxic personality is destroying any chemistry you two might have had and is ruining any glimmer of hope you two may have had at pulling off what would be an upset on Breakdown.”

“So Dawn, take my advice as a friend, a long-time friend of your family, and join up with Red and I.  Three-on-one beating of Frosty McSnowBitch sounds like fun, huh?  That or just walk away.  Walk away and leave it to Red and I to execute Selena with extreme prejudice.  But do not help her.  Do not fight with her.”

Angelica scratches her head. “There’s someone I’m forgetting to mention I just know it…”

She snaps her fingers. “Oh yeah!  Selena Frost!”

“I don’t know who you pissed off, but lately you’ve been fined, reprimanded, and now you’re in a match where you could conceivably be in a handicap situation, or worse a three on one situation if Dawn listens to my advice.  This is like Christmas!”

She makes a funny face. “Oh look at me, I’m Selena Frost and I made Angelica tap out at Retribution!  Yay me!  Believe It and True Believers and all that happy horse shit!”

“And then I’ll counter with how I had already made you tap out in the Shot of Adrenaline Tournament once before!  So there!”

“Ok, now that we have gotten THAT out of the way, we can focus on new material.  Imagine that for a novel concept?  New material!” Angelica flashes another thumbs up and a cheesy smile to go along with it.

“In William Shakespeare’s Tempest, Prospero, the rightful Duke of Milan, plots to restore his daughter Miranda to her rightful place using all sorts of magic and trickery.  Much like Prospero, you believe that there is something out there that rightfully belongs to you.  You in your infinitely warped and egotistical mind thinks that the Adrenaline division and its championship belongs to you.”

Angelica shakes her head. “I hate to tell you this, but you’re wrong.  You are dead wrong.  Right now it belongs to Red Rayne and even though we haven’t wrestled in the ring together, against each other or as partners, I know just from observing her from a distance that there is no way in hell that you will take that position from her.  I’d like to think I could take it from her and who knows?  Maybe someday I’ll get that chance?  Red is known for being quite violent and I do LOVE a good bloodbath.  So maybe after she and I get through disemboweling you, Red and I can have a nice winner take all fight to the death just for shits and giggles?”

“But I digress, the point is that you will not get that Adrenaline Championship so long as Red Rayne has it, Selena.  You’re not going to get it because you don’t have the talent to get the job done and you are damn sure not focused.  I think you’re more focused on getting back inside Dawn’s pants than anything else.”

“At the end of the play, Prospero, shorn from his magical powers, invites the audience to set him free from an island exile with their applause.  Prospero could rely on the audience to applaud for him but unlike Prospero, your reliance upon your True Believers will be ultimate downfall.”

“I ask you this, Selena; where will your True Believers be when you are getting slowly and methodically destroyed on Breakdown?  Where will your True Believers be when Dawn Lohan walks away…or worse yet joins in on the systematic annihilation and execution of Selena Frost?”

“They won’t be there to help you.” She shakes her head. “Some die hard fans may cry but most of them won’t a damn about you.  They know that they can just as well get a Kelcey Wallace autograph or maybe a Shaun Cruze autograph.  Most of those ignorant shits who sit in these arenas would probably be just as thrilled to meet Silas Mason or Aiken Frost as they would be to meet you.  Meeting any celebrity to them is a thrill.  Fans aren’t special and yours aren’t special.  They don’t care about you, Selena.  And they won’t care, they won’t utter the slightest word, when Red Rayne and I destroy you on Breakdown.”

Angelica ducks back underneath the covers.  The camera fades to black.
