The Ascension

==========
Ascension
==========

According to scripture, both Elijah and Elisha were taken up into heaven. Neither met death. After the resurrection of Jesus Christ he, too, ascended into heaven. Church tradition holds that, after her time on earth was over, The Blessed Virgin Mary was also taken body and soul up into heaven; four individuals whose bodies ascended into heaven.

There’s that word again. Ascension. The word itself means to rise to a higher point, rank, or degree; to proceed from an inferior to a superior degree or level.

When I began my career as a professional wrestler it was from humble beginnings. No one cared about me, not even my own family cared. I only had my sister and that was it. I had to fight tooth and nail, I had scratch and claw, I bled and I cried every night as I fought for survival in an industry dominated by men, in an industry that didn’t believe I had it in me, and every night I went out to the ring and I proved them wrong again and again by defeating everyone that was put in front of me. I won the Women’s Championship, hell I even won the tag team championship, but it still wasn’t enough for the industry.

So I kept fighting, I kept throwing it all back in their faces and turning back all of their challenges until the day I shattered the glass ceiling, until the day I forced them to sit up and recognize just who in the hell I am; the day I defeated Cuchulain to become the first female to reign as GDW World Heavyweight Champion.

From then on things changed. From then on I became the measuring stick, I was the standard by which everyone, male and female, looked to and tried to emulate. I wasn’t just a professional wrestler. I was wrestling and for seven years I was that standard bearer of what wrestling should be.

Then I went on a four and a half year drought in which I went without a world championship. Four and a half years in which others carried the torch, four and a half years in which others stood in my spot where I should’ve rightfully been. For awhile I was content with letting the newcomers take that torch and run with it. I was content with allowing them to have the limelight.

That time has come to an end. I have decided to step up and reclaim the spot that has always been rightfully mine. In GCW just two weeks ago I became the first ever Global Heavyweight Champion and now my eyes are set upon a new prize…

…the GFC World Heavyweight Championship.

I will give credit where credit is due. Chandler Scott has had the most dominant and most successful run as GFC World Champion to date. There is no doubt about that and you cannot question his skill when you look at the talent he has beaten; Jay Pride, CJ Osborne, Michael Hopkins, all on countless occasions. There are many who are asking the question; just who can defeat Chandler Scott?

Well I know the answer to that question, the person who can and will defeat Chandler Scott for the championship is the same person I see every time I look into the mirror. I don’t speak that as arrogance, I speak that as fact, I speak that as someone who has walked through hell with the greatest of them all and has survived.

Chandler Scott is facing a competitor unlike any other he has ever faced. He isn’t facing someone like Jay Pride or a Michael Hopkins or even a CJ Osborne. He isn’t facing a great competitor…

...he is facing a living breathing nightmare. He is going to go face to face with a true force of nature that few in this industry have ever managed to survive and no one has ever managed to stop.

Chandler quickly rose to the top of Frontier and now reigns as GFC Champion but now I’m on my own rise to the top. I’m ascending quicker than anyone else in Frontier history. I haven’t lost since I got here and since I got here I ended up winning a world championship in another company. I am ascending back to the heavens, back to the throne where The Golden Goddess rightfully belongs, and there is absolutely nothing Chandler Scott can do to stop me.

All things must come to an end, Chandler, and I can imagine that you have enjoyed being world champion. For over a year you have been world champion. But all of that will come to an end, Chandler. All of that will come to an end when we roll into Victoria Hall. Your run at the top of the GFC comes to an end and my ascension will be complete and my reign will begin.

My ascension will culminate in Victoria Hall with me becoming GFC World Champion.

==========
End of an Era
==========

The lovely Samantha Hodgson managed the life and career of Angelica Jones for six years until the two went their separate ways over creative differences. Only recently did they reconnect in an attempt to get a world championship around the waist of Angelica Jones. That attempt had some success, as Angelica went undefeated from late 2013 until today, competing in the likes of International Wrestling Championship, Future Wrestling Alliance, Global Championship Wrestling, and most recently Supreme Championship Wrestling and Frontier. A dominating run of being undefeated for that long throughout so many federations is nothing to sneeze at, but for Angelica that wasn’t enough. IWC and FWA shut down too soon and Hodgson had yet to make any moves towards getting Angelica a title shot in GCW, SCW, or Frontier. Only when Angelica threatened to leave Samantha for a new agent, a slimy swindler by the name of Silas Mason, did Samantha decide to get to work on getting Angelica what she wanted. Now Angelica Jones is the GCW Global Heavyweight Champion and has a shot at the GFC World Heavyweight Championship against reigning champion Chandler Scott.

Hodgson just hopes her actions in getting her the title match against Chandler was enough to keep Angelica a part of her clientele but the fact that Jones is demanding a meeting with Samantha in her Boston, Massachusetts home does not make her feel too good. In fact, Samantha, the cutthroat businesswoman who is generally quite confident in herself, is walking up towards Angelica’s Boston home with a nervous gait, concerned that this very well could be the last time she and Angelica see one another as allies.

Samantha is dressed in a powerful looking green knee length skirt and matching jacket with a white blouse underneath. Her feet are encased in black high-heel pumps. She looks like she is prepared for war but the truth is she is scared to death as she reaches the front door. Usually there is no apprehension but this time she reluctantly presses the doorbell and waits on an answer. After a few seconds and no answer she presses it again. Still no answer.

“Waiting on someone?”

Hodgson is startled as she turns to find that Angelica Jones herself is standing there a few feet behind her. It appears as if Jones has been busy in her garden, for she is dressed in flat sandals, blue jeans, and a plain white t-shirt. Her long hair, naturally red but dyed blonde, is pulled into a ponytail in the back.

“Oh, hello Angelica, you uh, you startled me.”

“I startled you?”
Angelica starts to approach her agent ever so slowly “Is that what I did?”

“Yes, but that’s ok.”
Samantha smiles, laughing it off trying to sound confident but her voice betrays her.

“Did I startle you?”
Angelica continues to march closer and closer to Samantha until she backs her against the closed door. Angelica blocks Samantha from escaping by putting her hands on either side of Samantha’s head. “Or did I scare you?”

“Well…maybe a little…”

Angelica snickers nastily. “Good, because you should be scared of me.”

“Why should I be scared of you?”
Samantha says, trying unsuccessfully to feign confidence. “We have been through so much together. We are the best of friends.”

“Friends?”

“Oh yes, friends!”
Samantha nods furiously. “We are more than just business partners, manager and client. We are friends!”

“Friends…”

Angelica’s voice trails off. She turns around and starts to walk away. Hodgson is given some relief as she actually has an escape route now that Angelica is no longer bearing down upon her. She cannot help but watch and listen as her client, Angelica Jones, just laughs and shakes her head in what appears to be a look of disbelief written across her lovely features.

“See, now that’s funny Sam.”

“What’s funny?”

Angelica spins on her heel and points at Sam. “You! You are funny for suggesting we are friends!”

“Oh but we are! We have been through so much together!”

“You have been my agent since the beginning of my career but that doesn’t necessarily mean you are my friend. Being a friend means you help them out and for the first six years you did help me out. You helped me become the competitor I am today.”

Jones once again resumes her march towards Samantha. This time Samantha tries to get away but she can’t run too fast in three inch heels and Angelica easily steps in front of her, causing Hodgson to stumble and fall into the grass. Angelica smirks as she looks down at Hodgson.

“Going somewhere? I thought we were friends?”

“We are!”

Angelica shakes her head. “Enough of the bullshit…”

She reaches down and snatches Hodgson by her arm and jerks up to her feet. “Get up!”

Samantha dusts herself off quickly. “Angelica, please, listen to reason…”

“No, it’s time you listen. Like I said, for the first six years you did help me a great deal and I would have considered us friends then, but ever since we reconnected your only desire was to bully me and change me into YOUR vision of what a champion should be.”

She shakes her head. “No more.”

“No more?”

“That’s what I said, Sammy.”

“But…but…”
Hodgson can see her world crumbling down around her and she thinks fast “…I helped you get that GCW Global Heavyweight Title Match! You WON the title!”

“Yes and you got me the match by making me fight my own sister, you sadistic bitch!”

“But what about your upcoming GFC World Championship Match against Chandler Scott? You cannot deny how instrumental I was there!”

The blonde nods her head. “This is true, but I can beat Chandler Scott on my own. I am the wrestler here, not you. I can defeat him. I know I can. And you have already made me a household name, known by wrestling fans worldwide. You have already made a global superstar in wrestling and country music. That was the one thing I could not do by myself and you already accomplished that goal to its fullest.”

Angelica reaches out and snatches Sam by her throat. “So what good are you to me exactly?”

Sam gulps and shakes furiously, no longer trying to hide her fear. “No…non…none…”

Angelica grins knowingly. “That’s right, you aren’t good to me at all.

Hodgson stares into Angelica’s hate filled eyes. These are not the eyes of Firestar or The Golden Goddess. This is that beast, the dragon which Angelica often speaks about, her nasty, evil side that loves to hurt people. Samantha braces herself for the worst possible pain, pain she has never felt before but, to her surprise, Angelica lets her go.

“Angelica…I…”

Jones points with her right hand away from the house. “Go. Leave now before I change my mind. You and I are through.”

Samantha Hodgson doesn’t have to be told twice. She does not want to risk another encounter with Angelica’s dark side. She quickly bolts towards the exit, leaving Angelica in the dust. Samantha is relieved she got through this alive and Angelica, well a part of her is grateful that she can move on to a new part of her career with a new manager but another part of her is sad to see the end of this era.

==========
Golden Legacy
==========

We see the grandiose gothic architecture of a lovely, beautiful church. It is a dark sanctuary and the only light is coming in from the stain glass windows, each one telling a different story of the life of Jesus Christ. The floors are marble and the pews are a light brown wood. Every four pews there are a set of arches holding this huge building upright making for a total of four arches. The heavy wood doors, darker brown than the pews, swing open and Angelica Jones steps into the sanctuary. The Boston native is wearing a knee length red dress, her signature black leather jacket, and strappy high heeled shoes. Her long blonde locks are left to hang unrestrained to shoulder length. The blonde woman stands there just beyond the doors, grinning broadly as she waves coyly. The Golden Goddess begins to make her way down the aisle of this church with a confident stride that borders on pure outright arrogance. She runs her right hand along each pew as she passes it by until she gets to the front of the church. Jones places her hands in a praying motion and gets down on bended knee.

“Forgive me, Lord, for I am about to sin greatly. I am going to break Chandler Scott physically by beating him to death and then I am going to break him emotionally by taking away the one thing he cares about more than anything else. And I’m going to enjoy every second of it.”

She crosses herself. “Amen.”

The blonde haired beauty stands back up and turns to her left, heading over to the far end of the church, stopping as she comes to one of the stain glass windows. It depicts Jesus in a white robe with a red shawl rising high into the heavens while his disciples watch on in shock and awe from below.

“According to Christian tradition, Jesus Christ, even though he was Son of God, came down from off his throne to be on earth. He lived his life, died, and then after he was resurrected he ascended into heaven once again, returning to his throne never again to leave it.”

The Golden Goddess does an about face, turning so that she now faces the camera. “Back in December of 2013 I took a look at what I had done to my career in four years and I wasn’t happy. Yes, I had been world champion before and I had even made it into three halls of fame, but I went from that high mountaintop to a point in my career where people either thought I was crazy or a joke or both.”

“No more.”
She shakes her head slowly as those words definitively come out of her mouth. “No more would I put up with it, no more would I allow myself to be viewed in that light. I decided on that day that I would remind the wrestling world just who the hell I am. I decided on that day that, like Jesus, I would ascend back to my own throne where I rightfully belonged.”

“First there was the International Wrestling Championship,
she holds up one finger “I ran roughshod through that company and was never beaten.” She holds up two fingers. “Then came the Future Wrestling Alliance and the same thing happened, I destroyed everyone they put in front of me and I was never beaten.”

She holds up three fingers. “Third, and finally, I found my way here to Frontier where, once again, I have gone undefeated. So in case you haven’t been keeping track, I have been undefeated since late 2013. Since late 2013 no one has been able to stop me.”

“Now, in order to complete my ascension back to the mountaintop, back to the throne where I belong, I have to do one thing. I have to do the one thing so many other Frontier superstars failed to do in the span of a year. I have been tasked with dethroning Chandler Scott.”

“No one said achieving one’s destiny would be easy.”
With a motion of her hand she points upwards and the camera turns to catch a glimpse of what she is pointing at; the crucifix, the image of Jesus hanging on the cross, up at the front of the sanctuary. “Jesus Christ had to get beaten half to death and then crucified in order to achieve his destiny.”

The camera turns back to face Angelica who now has her arms folded over her chest.

“My destiny, my legacy, has always been wrapped up in gold. My legacy has been defined by my dominance in an industry historically dominated by men. And now I have a chance to once again make history. Once again I will be given the opportunity to forever write my name into the history books as the first female to win the GFC World Heavyweight Championship.”

“You’re in a real tough position, Chandler. Not only are you facing the single greatest women’s wrestler in the industry today, but you are also facing a woman who has a history of beating the odds, of making history, and with winning gold.”

With both arms she waves around at her surroundings, this beautiful church she is standing in.

“This Church is quite lovely, is it not? It’s grand, luxurious architecture speaks of the power and wealth of the Roman Catholic Church, but even this is dwarfed by the riches contained within the Vatican.”
She points a long slender finger at the camera. “Much like the Church, you have built up for yourself a grand fortress, a castle, a seat of power if you will.”

She makes a slicing motion across her throat with her hand. “A seat of power that is about to be destroyed. The Great Beast is coming and it will be relentless in its pursuit, it will tear you to shreds until your house of cards has completely collapsed and your power, your championship, has completely slipped away from you.”

“I am the most sadistic bitch to have ever set foot inside of a wrestling ring. As one of Andreas’s best friends, you should know this. If he hasn’t told you, then go and talk to him. Ask him what I am capable of and he will tell you the horror stories of what I have done, not just inside the ring, but outside of the ring. Then after you have spoken to him, ask yourself if you still have that same feeling of confidence? Or are you going to lie awake in the nights leading up to Victoria Hall, sweating, shaking nervously because you know that I am going to beat you into a bloody pulp?”

A smug, knowing grin forms upon her face. “I think we both know the answer to that question.”

“Also ask yourself if you are willing to sacrifice a little part of your life. Ask yourself if you are willing to leave a small portion of your life at Victoria Hall because win, lose, or draw, I guarantee that a part of you will be left lying in Victoria Hall, a part you will never be able to reclaim. And if all things go according to plan, I’ll take your very heart and soul, I’ll take the GFC World Championship.”

“You’ll be nothing.”
