Sam’s Monologue
On Camera
==========
Everyone loves to talk about the future, to talk about the
next big thing, to talk about evolution and change these days. But if you want to know the future of the
Future Wrestling Alliance, if you want to know about FWA’s next big thing, then
all you have to do is take one good long look at my client, Angelica Jones. She is FWA’s past, present, and future. She is destined to rule FWA, with me by her
side, and there is nothing that a fool like Lincoln Booth can do about it.
For all of his talk about evolution and change, he really
knows nothing about it. True change,
true evolution can be seen when you look at Angelica Jones. My client began her career as Firestar but
she evolved into the sadistic Dragon and later on the unstoppable and unstable
Phoenix. But now she has evolved into
something far greater than any of those three.
Angelica Jones has grown and evolved into a goddess; The Golden Goddess.
The fate of FWA will be written by the hands of Angelica
Jones and no one can stop her. I should
know this because I created her. I alone
am responsible for Jones becoming The Golden Goddess. People like Lincoln Booth can run their
mouths all day long but at the end of it all they’ll end up as failures as they
always do. Just like Nate Lawson failed…twice…to
defeat my client, everyone else will fail.
Just like Mya Denton will fail on Mayhem.
At least Mya is attempting to evolve. Or is it April? It really doesn’t matter, because
unfortunately you can rebrand yourself and rename yourself as many times as possible,
your evolution is no match for The Golden Goddess. You want to say that you are different
now? So is Angelica. My client is not the same person with whom
Mya has had a past with. My client is
much better now, much more powerful, and more sadistic than ever.
It is all a matter of evolution and on that note Lincoln
Booth and I can agree, because it is survival of the fittest after all, and my
client is the fittest of them all. You
will all eventually bow to me and The Golden Goddess.

Reunion
Off Camera
==========
The feud between the Jones family and the Williams family
has been quite similar to that of the Hatfield’s and McCoy’s in that it had
been a long, bitter war between two proud families, neither one wanting to give
up, neither one wanting to give an inch to the other until one was completely
and utterly eradicated from existence.
Things did not start out that way, however. Angelica Jones and Sean Williams started out
very close. They dated in school and
they loved each other very much. They loved
each other so much that they let their emotions get the better of them. One thing led to another and they had sexual
relations. The two were warned but they
didn’t care at the time. At the time all
they cared about was each other.
The long term effect was that Angelica Jones would get pregnant
with Sean’s child. Angelica panicked,
thinking that Sean would hate her for it and would demand that she either get
an abortion or he would leave her. With
that in mind she gave the child up for adoption immediately after giving birth
and it wouldn’t be until the child was five years old that mother and daughter would
be reunited.
Sean Williams was furious at Angelica for separating him
from his daughter. He would have loved
to have been a father to this child and knowing that Angelica took her from him
without telling him enraged him. A war
was waged at that point. Williams sought
revenge against the Jones family for what they did and Sean vowed to follow her
every step of the way until he got his revenge.
He even followed her into professional wrestling where he could legally
get her into a match and legally fight her.
But Angelica, who had by that point won her first world championship,
was much more experienced and was the better fighter. She bested Williams at every turn. Finally she would put a bullet through his
head, hoping that would end the war once and for all.
It wouldn’t be the end, though, because Sean’s daughter from
Emma Storm, Kim Williams would fight on in her father’s name. She targeted not Angelica but Marie
instead. Marie Annabelle Jones, the
daughter of Angelica and Sean, would get constantly harassed and assaulted by
Kim in much the same manner as Sean assaulted and harassed Angelica. Kim’s ultimate revenge would be an attempt to
kidnap Marie and take her identity, considering they looked so much alike she
figured she could pull it off.
Kim Williams was good at mimicking Marie but one thing you
cannot mimic is the bond of mother and daughter, the bond of family ties. The Jones family rescued Marie and Kim is now
rotting away in a funny farm somewhere.
Angelica cannot help but feel guilty about all of this,
about Marie’s kidnapping especially, considering the fact that she really did
start this Jones-Williams war. This
guilty conscience follows her as she walks up the driveway to her daughter’s
Boston home, wearing a gold colored sheath column short mini dress with scoop
neckline, no back, with long sleeves. Her
long blonde hair hangs down to shoulder length and her feet are encased in gold
high heel pumps.
This home represents hope for Angelica, a hope for a renewal
of her relationship with Marie. For the
longest time Marie Annabelle had refused to forgive her mother for the things that
she had done to escalate the Jones-Williams war. But even during the days when she hated her
mother, when she moved out of the house that they had lived in for quite a long
time, she did not move far away. She
stayed in Boston, and the home she bought was not that far from Angelica’s. This told Angelica that Marie wanted,
eventually to make up with her mother.
Eventually mother and daughter did reconcile. They did make
peace with each other and with the past but with the understanding that their
relationship would never be the same again.
It would never be what it once was.
The home itself is a modest two story home, much different
from Angelica’s which is a nice mansion of sorts. But then again, Angelica Jones is married to
a filthy rich billionaire named Lindsey Carter and Marie wants to make her own
way, even if she could have a very nice house at her mother’s (and step-mother’s)
expense.
The blonde rings the doorbell and stands there waiting
patiently for someone to arrive. It isn’t
long until the door opens. Angelica
smiles warmly as she sees her daughter standing there.
“Oh, hi mom.” She
seems a bit startled. “I wasn’t expecting
you.”
“I thought I’d
surprise you. Is this a bad time?”
Annabelle shakes her head. “No, of course not.”
Angelica wasn’t exactly sure how Marie would take this
unexpected visit. She had just come off
of being kidnapped. Angelica can only
imagine how traumatic that must have been for her and can only imagine what it
did to her psyche. But Angelica felt she
needed to go see her daughter. They
needed to iron some things out.
The mother follows her daughter inside and the door is
shut. Marie leads them past the living
room and into the dining room, a nice exquisite room that looks much nicer and
luxurious than the outside of the home might imply. With a motion of her hand towards the table
Annabelle gestures for her mother to sit down at the table. Angelica quietly obliges.
“What do you want to
drink?”
“Red wine if you have any.”
The younger Jones grins. “You
haven’t changed any, mom.”
“And I never will.”
“I’ll be right back.”
Young Marie disappears into the kitchen. Angelica sighs as the feeling of guilt
returns to her, guilt knowing that she made her life so difficult for her, not
intentionally but unintentionally.
Angelica knows that her actions towards others, actions directed at the
Williams family in particular, have caused problems for Marie and it is all her
fault.
Annabelle returns with a bottle of wine and two glasses. She sets a glass in front of her mother and
one at another seat across from her. She
pours wine into both glasses and then sets the wine bottle down. Marie sits down at the seat with the other
glass of wine. Angelica takes a sip of
her wine first.
“Oh this wine is so
good, Marie.”
“I would hope so. It’s your favorite, after all.”
“Sutter Home?”
Annabelle nods her head. “That’s
right. I always keep at least one bottle
here at home. You kind of got me hooked
on the stuff.”
“Well clearly you have
good taste.” Angelica raises up her glass for a toast. “To the Jones family?”
“To the Jones family!”
Marie raises up her glass and they clink them together before each takes a
sip.
“May no one ever again
try to destroy us.”
“I don’t think that’ll
be happening anytime soon. Kim Williams
was the last one crazy enough to try and she’s being locked away forever.”
“Never say never,
Marie.” Angelica warns. “When it comes
to our country’s legal system there is always a chance at parole,
redemption. Quite honestly, when it
comes to Kim, I’m not sure she has any hope of redemption if the system
believes she’s redeemed then they may very well release her.”
Annabelle frowns. “If
you’re trying to say that I made a mistake in letting her live…”
“No, no, not at
all. Granted I would not have let her
live but really that just makes you a better person than I ever would hope to
be.”
Angelica bows her head in shame. “I’ve done horrible things, Marie.
I have done unspeakable things.”
“Yes but you have
sought forgiveness and that’s what matters.”
The blonde shakes her head. “It isn’t as simple as that, Marie.
It’s like in Church when you go to confession, you may receive
forgiveness from God but you still have to deal with the consequences of your
actions here on earth. My actions led to
Kim Williams coming after you. My
actions drove her insane and mad her want to kidnap you. My actions put her in the nuthouse.”
She looks back up at Marie with tear filled eyes. “You and
your sisters, Jessica and Kelly, are my hope at redemption here on earth
because you are better people than I could ever hope to be.”
Annabelle stares at her mother for a long time. A tense moment passes, followed by
another. Finally a grin forms across
Marie’s face.
“Mom…are you getting
drunk?”
“Drunk?”
Angelica can’t help but chuckle a little at the
thought. She throws the glass back and
finishes the last little bit of the red wine and then shoves it towards Marie.
“I just now finished
my first glass, Marie. I haven’t yet
begun to drink.”
“My pleasure!”
Marie pours her mother another full glass of wine. She even finishes filling her glass back up
to the brim. After setting the wine
bottle back down on the table she takes a sip.
“Actually, I’m glad
you stopped by. I needed to ask you
something anyway.”
“Oh?”
Annabelle nods her head. “Why
did you side with Dante and his group?”
“That was a business
decision, Marie. Nothing more.”
Angelica can tell by the look on her daughter’s face that
she did not appreciate the answer that was given to her. Her brow furrows as she studies her mother,
studying her intensely.
“What do you mean by a
business decision, mom?”
“Dante and I had
similar enemies and we joined forced to fight those enemies. One of those enemies was Nick Harris. It really is as simple as that.”
“Ok, well, Dante just
defeated Harris at Darkness Within, so why don’t you just…”
“Leave?” Angelica
takes a sip of her wine and then shakes her head. “I can’t. Do you honestly
believe Nick Harris will just give Dante what he deserves?”
Even Annabelle knows the answer to this question. “No…”
“No, he won’t. Dante wants it, Glory wants it, the fans want
it, but Nick Harris will try everything he can to make sure Glory Braddock does
not defend the title against Dante.”
“But see that’s
another thing, Glory is family and you are siding with a man who wants to take
the title from her.”
“Yes…”
“And then what if
Dante does not defeat Glory? Will you
face her?”
“I will if Harris
books the match.”
“See what I mean?”
The blonde takes a sip of her wine and sets it back down on the
table. She sighs.
“Marie, I am not Glory’s
enemy. She and I have peace with each
other, this is just business. Glory would
agree with me. Just because she is
potentially facing Dante does not mean that he and Glory hate each other. Just as it wouldn’t mean I hate Glory if I
ever fought her for the world title. She
is the world champion, we all want that championship, if you don’t you’re in
the wrong business. It’s just how the
industry works, Marie. Sometimes you
have to make sacrifices to achieve success.”
“Sacrifices?”
Marie asks with a cocked eyebrow. “Is
that what you call selling your soul to Samantha Hodgson?”
Angelica cannot reply.
She knows her daughter speaks a
truth loud and clear and in volumes even in her silence. Jones bows her head in shame. Marie even begins to feel sorry for what she
said.
“I’m sorry, mom, I
didn’t mean it like that.”
“I know.”
“It’s just that…”
she motions to her mother “…all of this,
the blonde hair, the fancy, thousand dollar dresses, none of that is you!”
“I’m sorry, sweetie,
but it is who I am now.”
“Why? Because Samantha says so?”
“Yes.” Angelica says definitively. “She is my agent, she guided me to world championships before and she
will guide me to championship gold again.
I just have to listen to her. It’s
part of the sacrifice I made.”
Angelica swigs down the rest of her wine in one big gulp and
forces a pained smile upon her face.
“This is good wine,
Marie. It really is…”

Insanity
On Camera
==========
The sky is a bright Carolina blue and the sun shines down
illuminating the green grass on the field.
In the background is a building, more like a large complex, surrounded by
wire mesh and barbed wire. There is a
concrete walkway that leads to a gate. The
gate leading to the entrance of this complex is shut. Then Angelica Jones enters the scene from
stage right. The blonde haired Boston
native is wearing an elegant gold lace dress with an empire waistline that
stops just above the knee, a sheath silhouette, a slash neckline, and spaghetti
straps which put heavy emphasis upon her elegance and beauty.
“Behind me is a mental
hospital.” Jones turns around, takes one look at the barbed wire and then
turns back to face the camera, chuckling lightly. “Not a very hospitable place, now is it?”
“This is where those
who are mentally unstable are kept, partially to protect them from themselves but
also protect them from society. Society
doesn’t like insanity. Society does not
like mental instability. It’s just not
normal and society doesn’t long things that falls into its definition of
normal. That is why these mental
hospitals were developed, to allow doctors and other experts to try and ‘fix’
those who are not deemed normal, to try and mold them into society’s definition
of what ‘normal’ is.”
“It is no secret that
I spent some time there. My agent
probably freaked out just now because I brought that up, but hey, it’s always
been public record, a huge deal was made about it when it happened. It isn’t worth trying to hide. It isn’t anything to be ashamed of. I have run across many individuals who should
be locked up in one of those places behind me.
I managed to get out but there are those who should never get out. Those who are beyond help.”
“Mya Denton…or April
or May or June or July or whatever the hell you want me to call you now…many
have said you were beyond help. Many
have said for a long time you were beyond help and that there was no hope for
you.”
Jones shakes her head. “I
always disagreed with them because I saw potential within you. You just needed to be molded and given the
proper guidance. You always had that
potential within you. You just needed to
harness it and claim it as your own. You
took it and apparently created a split personality out of it.”
The Boston native shrugs her shoulders. “That’s fine with me. Society
may not like it, society may think it’s too outside the norm for them, but I
don’t care. I’m not society. And you are not facing society in that
wrestling ring. And quite frankly, until
you prove otherwise, you are the same pathetic, winless loser that you always
have been and it doesn’t matter what name you slap on yourself, it doesn’t
matter which of the thousands of voices in your head you decide to listen to.”
“I don’t know
you? I don’t know…April?” Jones
throws her head back and laughs. “Funny, that’s
real funny because you don’t know me.
You really don’t know me. You
know of Firestar, the cocky young upstart who actually could back up her
arrogance. You know of The Dragon who
was sadistic enough to do absolutely anything inside or outside of the
wrestling ring. You know of The Phoenix
who was like a walking, talking force of nature that could not be stopped.”
“But you do not know
who I am now, for I have grown since then.
The term evolution has been tossed around a lot lately so maybe I’ll use
that term. Evolution. I have evolved since then, becoming The
Golden Goddess of professional wrestling.”
“A Firestar can be
extinguished, a Dragon can be slain, and a Phoenix does die on cycles, but a
Goddess cannot be stopped. A Goddess
cannot be killed. A Goddess can do
anything, just as I can do anything in that squared circle.”
She points into the camera.
“And you, you are just following
in my footsteps sweetheart. You are just
trying to be a second rate Angelica Jones copy.”
“Licking blood from
the wound? Been there done that. Death?
Been there, done that, enjoyed my time in hell in fact. Insanity?” Angelica again turns her head to
look back at the insane asylum and then looks back at the camera. “I’ve been
there. I lived it. Your talk of insanity just bores me to death
because I have already done it, little girl.
Everything you have experienced I have already experienced. Everything you have done in this industry I
have already done it and I did it much better than you could ever hope.”
“So go ahead, bring
your insanity, Mya…oh, I’m sorry, April.
I better play along with your cutesy little game. Go ahead and bring that insanity because I
know who and what I’m facing but you still have no clue what you are getting yourself
into. You can bring the bloodshed and
violence all you want, but I am the most violent and sadistic wrestler in the
world and the wrath of this Golden Goddess will rain down upon you if you push
your luck with me.”
