Break Up: Part 2

==========

==========

Angelica and Kayla Jones have reset their focus on winning back the SCW World Tag Team Championship sometime this new year of 2017.  Despite a disappointing start, a disqualification loss to Tainted Justice on Breakdown, the Sisterhood still feels confident in their ability to accomplish this goal.  They are one of very few teams to hold not just one but two tag team victories over the former year-long running tag team champions Autumn Valentine and Gable Winchester.  They also recently defeated Sloan Sawyer and Diana Weston, The Daughters of Darkness, at an SCW House Show.  Momentum is on their side as they continue their march through the tag team division and, hopefully, towards their eventual goal of a tag team title shot.

The Sisterhood realize also that there is still much work to be done before they reach that goal.  There is still quite a journey left before they reach their end game.  Part of this journey will include the opportunity to avenge their loss to Vixen Cain and Merrick Wiseman, an opportunity that will come along at the next SCW pay per view Hazardous Envy.  Losing is bad enough, but to lose by disqualification was painful.  Angelica and Kayla know that they can beat Tainted Justice if they are given a fair shot.

Their last time facing the unique duo was definitely not a fair shot by any stretch of the imagination.  Vixen Cain manipulated the referee into thinking Angelica had used a chair in the match, thus causing the disqualification.  Granted, the chair may never have come into play at all had Angelica been able to control her own rage, but still, what’s done is done and now The Sisterhood wants revenge.

Unfortunately, this chance at revenge will not be a simple affair.  Team Desire will also be involved in this match.  This duo has already beaten The Daughters of Darkness not once but twice and, having amassed their own impressive string of tag team victories, believe that they deserve to be in contention for the SCW World Tag Team Championship.

Team Desire’s inclusion in this match adds a new layer and dynamic to this match at Hazardous Envy.  Angelica and Kayla definitely want revenge against Tainted Justice, there is no doubting that, but winning this match, thus beating Team Desire as well, would make a strong case for The Sisterhood to get a shot at the SCW World Tag Team Championship.

They could potentially get their revenge and earn a future tag team title opportunity with one victory.

“Why the hell aren’t you picking up your damn phone?  Answer, Angelica!”

That’s the frustrated, borderline angry, voice of the younger half of The Sisterhood, the newly married Kayla Jones-Snow.  She’s been trying to get in touch with her older sibling, the other half of The Sisterhood Angelica Jones, ever since she woke up this morning in beautiful Boston, Massachusetts.  Unfortunately she had no luck in this regards and Mrs. Jones-Snow has a good idea in regards to why she cannot reach her older sister.

It wasn’t too long ago that The Sisterhood were in Nashville, Tennessee for SCW Breakdown.  Nashville is Angelica’s home away from home, seeing as she is a part time country music singer on top of being a full time wrestler for Supreme Championship Wrestling.  She loves it in Nashville and has very fond memories of music city, but this one incident from her stay in Nashville will haunt and scar her memory for quite a long time.

Angelica received word that her wife, Lindsey Carter, had come to Nashville.  Ordinarily that would not have been an issue, because Angelica always invites Lindsey to travel with her, but Lindsey rarely agrees to go traveling with her and she did not agree to go with her to Nashville this time.  Angelica found it very unusual that her wife would come to Nashville on her own after initially turning down the offer.  What would cause her to change her mind?

The answer became tragically clear when Lindsey confronted Angelica at their Nashville home.  Carter told Angelica that she wanted a divorce.  She wanted to break up with Angelica.

Kayla, for her part, was shocked that the marriage lasted as long as it did.  She did not approve of the marriage, not because of the homosexual aspect of it (Kayla agrees with gay marriage) but instead because of the fact that Lindsey was, initially, manipulated into the marriage.  Angelica tricked Lindsey into falling in love with her and then proceeded to trick her into signing a prenuptial agreement which would forfeit control of Lindsey’s company over to Angelica’s best friend Meagan Collins if a divorce were to take place.  And if Lindsey didn’t do whatever Angelica asked her to do, then Angelica could simply ask for a marriage and the company would be forfeited to Meagan that way.

The two ladies did seem to fall for one another for real over time but Kayla still felt as if the relationship would not last because it started on a wrong foot from the very beginning.  She hates that she was proven to be right and she does not intend to rub it in her sister’s face.  She’s not that kind of woman.  But she does need to find Angelica and make sure she is in the right frame of mind to compete at Hazardous Envy.

“Pick up, pick up, pick up!”

Kayla is pacing the floor like a caged lion with her iPhone placed against her hear.  She is in the living room of her Boston, Massachusetts home wearing a knee length floral print black skirt, a red blouse, and black high heeled pumps.  Her long red hair hangs long and flowing in waves down to just below the shoulders.  Her nails, both finger and toe, are painted a crimson red that matches her blouse.  A look of concern is etched across her face; concern for her sister and what may be going on with her right now, wherever she is.

Meanwhile Kayla’s husband, Trenton Snow, is sitting on their comfortable plush black leather sofa.  He watches as Kayla paces the floor, back and forth, waiting on a response.  A sly grin is on his face as she grows more and more frustrated until she finally gives up, hangs up the phone, and angrily throws it on the sofa.

“God damnit!”

“It isn’t the phone’s fault, babe.”

Trenton chuckles at this but Kayla is in no mood for laughter.  An icy glare is directed at her husband.

“What’s so funny, Trenton?!”

“You.  You’re overreacting, which is par for the course, and it is rather humorous.”

He picks up the phone and offers it back to Kayla.

“Throwing your phone?  Not smart.  At least it landed on the sofa.”

She rolls her eyes as she takes the phone back in her hand.

“You don’t get it, Trenton.”

Kayla sighs as she walks over and sits down next to Trenton on the sofa.  She leans back as he wraps a comforting arm around her shoulders and plants a kiss on her cheek.

“She’s my sister and I’m worried about her.”

“I get it, Kay.  I really do.  You and your sister are very close.  But understand what she just endured.  Lindsey is divorcing her and it was just suddenly thrust upon her without any warning.  She wasn’t expecting it.  I think she could use some time to grieve.”

Jones turns to look at Trenton and frowns skeptically.

“It isn’t like anyone died.”

“To her it must’ve felt like something died.”

Kayla rolls her eyes.

“Oh please, Trenton.  Their relationship began on a scandal and a lie.  It was destined to fail.”

“You know, they said the same thing about you and I.”

“That’s different.  You’re a good guy.”

Trenton nods his head.

“Right, and I proved it to you, just as Lindsey and Angelica proved it to one another.”

“Touché,”

Kayla sighs and shakes her head.

“Look, I’m just worried about worried that she’s making yet another mistake.”

“You can’t protect her forever.”

Trenton had been chuckling earlier but now it’s Kayla who is chuckling.

“Yeah, funny you use that word…protect…”

“Yeah?  So?”

“Angelica has always been overprotective of me.  It goes back to when we reunited after spending most of our teenage years apart.  She had been in a convent and I was in the foster home of an abusive drunk.”

Trenton can see the pained expression written across his wife’s face as she recalls these painful memories of her past.

“I know how hard this is for you, Kay, if you don’t…”

Kayla shakes her head and interrupts him.

“No, it’s ok.”

She sighs.

“Angelica blamed herself for the abuse I suffered while I was in Oliver Hardy’s foster care.”

“Well that’s ridiculous.  She didn’t even know where you were.”

“She didn’t even know if I was still alive.  So yeah, it was ridiculous, but she still blamed herself for it, Trenton.  That’s what sparked a great deal of her rage.  She blames it on herself and on her own terrible upbringing.  She blames it on witnessing our mother’s murder.  But I do think a lot of that whole Dragon persona boils down to her anger at what happened to me.”

Kayla reaches up and wipes some tears out of her eyes.

“She blamed herself for what happened to me and The Dragon was her way of punishing herself.”

Kayla looks over at Trenton with tear-filled eyes.

“So can you see it now, Trenton?  Do you see why I’m worried?  She felt guilt over me and mom and she created The Dragon to punish herself.  What might she do if she feels that level of guilt over Lindsey Carter?”

Trenton does indeed see the point his wife is trying to get across and he nods his head in agreement.

“Yeah, I get it.”

“That’s why I need to find her, Trenton.  That’s…”

Her iPhone rings.  Kayla realizes that this must be Angelica and she immediately whips it out and checks the ID.  Sure enough, it’s her older sister.  She quickly presses the button to answer the phone and then she places it to her ear.

“Angelica!  Where have you…”

Kayla pauses as her eyes grow wide, she listens carefully and intensely to what her sister is saying.  She nods her head.

“…ok, we’ll be there.”

Kayla hangs up the phone and turns to Trenton, who looks on quizzically.

“So what’s up?”

“That was Angelica.  She’s at home.”

“So?  You sound upset.”

“Yeah, well, that’s the thing.  She is at home…but so are the police.”

“You may want to be careful.”

Trenton Snow is trying to be level headed as his wife Kayla pulls up to the walkway that leads up to the front door of the Jones family home that Angelica currently occupies.  Kayla puts the car into park and then turns to face her husband Trenton.

“Angelica may have gotten herself into serious trouble here, babe.  The police are here for a reason and I doubt it’s for small talk.”

“Why would the police need to talk to Angelica?”

“Who knows?  Something must have happened, though, because Angelica sounded shaken up about the whole ordeal.”

She sighs.

“Oh Angelica, what have you done?”

“You say that with the assumption that Angelica is at fault.”

Kayla shoots Trenton a dagger like glare.

“I know my sister, Trenton.  She must be at fault.”

With that, before Trenton can stop her, Kayla opens the driver’s side door and exits the vehicle.  She runs up the walk way.  Trenton exits the passenger’s side and does his best to keep up, following his wife towards the front of the Jones family home.  Kayla is too quick and she reaches the front door way ahead of him.  She flings the door open.

“Angelica!”

Kayla rushes into the home ahead of Trenton Snow.  The old Jones family homestead which Angelica now resided was indeed Elizabethan, with wooden panels along the corridors, ornate chandeliers, and oil paintings from a variety of styles and time periods, showing off Angelica’s tastes in art.  Immediately inside there was a hallway that led deep into the dark.  To the right of the hallway is a long winding staircase that leads to the upstairs area.  This isn’t where Kayla wants to go.  She veers off to the left and into a tall galleried room with a rug spread out over flag-stones and a fireplace big enough to park a car in.

Over against the wall in the living room was a couch that has seen many years and many seasons.  Though beautifully designed the leather has been worn ever so slightly, and the signs are there with a few tiny tears and holes.  The once bright tan color has been bleached by the sun that streams in the window, the hue is now a friendly soft beige.

The rest of the furniture was high end.  Every piece was hardwood and harked back to the Victorian era and not a scrap of it was more than a year old.  It looked comfortable and practical but by no means plush.  Sitting there for polite conversation was easy enough to imagine.  It was the perfect place to entertain polite company.

Unfortunately, the company that her older sister is keeping right now is with the police.  Angelica is sitting on said couch from earlier with one of Boston’s finest officers to her left.  Angelic and the officer stand up to greet Kayla as soon as her presence is noticed.

“Hi sis,”

Angelica motions to the officer.

“This is officer Justin Barber.”

Kayla shakes the officer’s hand.

“Uh, hi.  My name is Kayla Jones-Snow.”

Angelica motions to Trenton, who just entered the room behind Kayla.

“And that’s her husband, Trenton Snow.”

Trenton shakes hands with the officer.

“It’s a pleasure.”

Kayla’s look of concern has grown by the second, from the moment she and Trenton left their house and came over here.  She is nervous about the possibility that Angelica may be in trouble.

“Angelica, are you in any trouble?”

The officer shakes his head.

“Your sister isn’t in any trouble, ma’am.  This is just standard questioning.  That’s all.”

Kayla is unconvinced but nods her head nevertheless.  She follows Angelica and the officer over to the sofa.  Angelica sits down in the middle with the officer to her left and Kayla on her right.  Trenton, meanwhile, takes his spot in the armchair, which was something like a creamy leather marshmallow.  It was the kind of chair that molded around you and hugged y ou as much as supported you.  It provided far more comfort than the awkwardness that Angelica and Kayla must be feeling right now sitting next to a police officer, who questions them this very moment.

“Mrs. Jones-Snow, I just stopped by to ask a few questions about your sister-in-law; a Ms. Lindsey Carter.”

Kayla’s eyes grow wide.  Lindsey is Angelica’s wife who had demanded a divorce.

“Is anything wrong?”

“She went missing, ma’am.  Her family has filed a missing persons report and I’m looking into it.  That’s all.”

Kayla shakes her head.

“Well I can honestly say that I have not seen her in a very long time.  She used to travel with Angelica and I when we went on the road with SCW but she stopped that a long time ago.”

“Did Ms. Carter say anything about leaving or going anywhere?”

Again Kayla shakes her head.

“No, she never said anything to me.”

The officer scribbles some notes on his notepad.  Then he reaches into his pocket and produces a card.  He hands it to Kayla.

“This is my card, it has all of the information regarding how to contact me.  If you or your sister find out anything, let me know.”

“Yeah, we’ll do that officer.”

The officer stands up and turns and makes his exit out of the Jones family homestead.  As the front door is heard slamming shut, Kayla turns to face her sister inquisitively.

“What the hell happened?!”

“You heard him, Kay.  Lindsey went missing.  He wanted a statement from me.”

Kayla narrows her brow as she studies her elder sibling closely.

“What did you do to her?”

Angelica glares back at Kayla with a mix of anger and shock; anger that Kayla would accuse her like that and shock that Kayla would even think that she is capable of such things to someone she loves.  Angelica rears back and slaps Kayla across the cheek.

“How dare you!”

Kayla rubs her cheek in pain.  Angelica points a finger at Kayla.

“Don’t accuse me!  I love Lindsey!  I would never do anything to harm her!”

“Oh please, Angelica!  Don’t come off as if you’re always innocent.  We both know what happens to you when you get upset.  Does the name ‘Dragon’ ring any bells?”

Angelica shakes her head.

“The Dragon is no longer a part of my life, Kayla.  It no longer represents who I am.”

Trenton stands up in an attempt to stop the argument and direct the attention of the sisters towards him.

“Ladies, if I may…”

He is successful.  Angelica and Kayla stop their arguing and turn to look at Trenton.

“…this arguing will get us nowhere.”

Trenton walks over to the sofa and sits down next to the sisters.  He looks at his wife Kayla.

“Come on, Kay.  You should know this.  Who do the police automatically suspect first in the event of a murder or a kidnapping or any other type of violent crime?”

Kayla shrugs her shoulders.

“You tell me.”

“The significant other.  Boyfriend, girlfriend, husband, or wife.  They always suspect the significant other first.  So of course the police will come talking to Angelica.  But that doesn’t mean she had anything to do with it.”

Kayla sighs and nods her head in agreement.

“Fair enough.”

She turns and gazes at Angelica.

“I’m sorry, sis.  I just worry about you, that’s all.  I know you have a…history…”

“I know I have a history.  The police know it too.  They know I murdered Marie’s father.  So it is perfectly logical to assume I may have had something to do with Lindsey’s disappearance.”

Angelica shakes her head.

“But I have nothing to do with, Kay.  Believe me.”

Kayla leans over and embraces her sister in a tight hug.

“I believe you.  And we will exonerate your name by getting to the bottom of this…”

She smirks.

“…together.”

Our goal in SCW is the same as it always has been; to win back the SCW World Tag Team Championship.  But after our tag team match against Tainted Justice, after the crap Vixen Cain and Merrick Wiseman pulled in order to get a cheap win over us, well now Kayla and I are looking for something a little extra…

…revenge.

Merrick, Cain, you two are the whiniest two bitches in SCW.  You gripe and complain about how Mr. D runs things.  If you hate it here so damn much then why the hell don’t you just do everyone in this company a favor and do the fans a favor and just leave so we don’t have to put up with your annoying asses ever again?!

No, you won’t leave because you enjoy being annoying little pissants.  You enjoy being the great nuisance of SCW.  You get your jollies off of pissing people off.  Unfortunately you’ve gone and pissed off the wrong people.  You’ve pissed off The Sisterhood and we’re finished playing games with you.

Listen up tweedle-dumb and tweedle-dumber, you two knew that you weren’t going to beat The Sisterhood so you manipulated the referee into thinking we hit you with a chair?  You manipulated the referee into disqualifying us?  And you’re PROUD of that kind of win?

What did it prove?  It damn sure didn’t prove you were better than us and it’s a great big stretch to argue that it proved you were smarter than us.  What it definitely proves is that you two are a pair of cowards who refuse to fight us straight up.

You want to manipulate us into a disqualification?  Fine.  There will be no manipulation required at Hazardous Envy.  I’m coming for blood and I’m coming to beat the hell out of the both of you.  Winning is just a secondary goal.  Beating your ass is the primary goal.

My sister Angelica is right, this is as much about revenge as it is about the SCW World Tag Team Championship.  Tainted Justice have definitely earned an ass kicking from The Sisterhood and I promise you, I swear to you Merrick and Vixen, that we will kick your teeth right down your throat!

But Hazardous Envy isn’t just about revenge.  If it were, I think we’d both be perfectly fine with whipping their ass and walking away, leaving their cowardly asses lying in the center of the ring.  But we now have a third team to deal with, a team that actually has the same goals in mind that we do.

Katie and Gigi Steward of Team Desire want to be the SCW World Tag Team Champions.

Katie and Gigi, if you think your progress here in SCW’s tag team division has gone unnoticed then you are mistaken.  Angelica and I always pay very close attention to our future competition in the tag team division.  On Breakdown you mentioned your wins over Sloan and Diana.

Your victories over The Daughters of Darkness were impressive, indeed, but we’ve beaten them too; recently, fact, on a House Show.  We’ve beaten the most recent SCW World Tag Team Champions Autumn and Gable not once but twice.  We’ve beaten Standing Room Only to become the SCW World Tag Team Champions the first time.

You are impressive, but we’ve been impressive too, and instead of getting into a pissing contest over who has the better tag team record, instead of comparing experience or tag chemistry to see who has the better tag team credentials, let’s just skip all of that bullshit and go straight to the point…

…we both want to be SCW World Tag Team Champions, we both want to be the best, but to find out who is the best, we have to settle it the old fashioned way; inside of an SCW ring.

Believe me, ladies, when I say that we want this more than you can ever imagine, and you can expect the same treatment that Cain and Wiseman will get, and by that I’m referring to my foot in your face!

We will kick your teeth down your throat.

Break Up

==========
Scene 1
Off Camera
==========

The UWA Tag Team division is currently being dominated by the reigning world tag team champions, Sophie James and Kimberly Williams of #GingerNation.  Between them and Marie Annabelle Jones, they have held those tag team titles for well over a year.  Recently The Heartbreakers and The Sisterhood both have tried to end their reign but to no avail.  To be perfectly frank, the trio of James, Williams, and Jones are sitting pretty at the top of UWA’s tag team division and they are confident that no one can or will overthrow them anytime soon.

Angelica and Kayla Jones, however, see things differently.

The last time The Sisterhood shared a wrestling ring with The Ginger Nation was in a triple threat match that also involved The Heartbreakers.  The Sisterhood had The Ginger Nation dead to rights when Angelica dropped Kimberly with The Hot Shot.  Unfortunately it was one fall to a finish and Sophie pinned Niles of the Heartbreakers before Angelica could pin Kimberly of Ginger Nation.  Thus Sophie and Kimberly retained the titles.

It was yet another letdown in what both Angelica and Kayla considered to be a lackluster 2016 for The Sisterhood.  Now that 2016 has ended and 2017 is here, they hope to refocus on their goal of once again winning tag team championship gold; in the UWA that means getting in the ring with the Ginger Nation one more time and, ideally, getting a one team on one team world tag team championship match.  Angelica and Kayla are convinced that had The Heartbreakers not been involved, had it not been a triple threat match, then they would’ve beaten the Ginger Nation and they would be the tag team champions today.

Unfortunately that’s a hypothetical scenario that will never come to pass until and unless The Sisterhood can earn a tag team title shot.  Lucky for them, they do have an opportunity to earn that tag title shot in a number one contender’s match on the first edition of Outbreak in 2017.

Their opponents will be Gwen Black and Connor Green.

These two teams are almost diametrically opposites when you look at them.  Angelica and Kayla are a sibling pair, unlike Black and Green.  Black and Green were graduates of the Ante-Up Academy whereas Angelica and Kayla had to rely on the goodwill of others for private lessons.  Angelica and Kayla are veterans whereas Black and Green have not been wrestling near as long as The Sisterhood.  It really does boil down to age and experience against youth and vitality.

SCW Breakdown was in Nashville this week, the city that has been Angelica’s home away from home ever since she broke into the country music industry.  Now that Breakdown has ended the sibling tag team have left the arena and have arrived in their rental car in front of their hotel, the Renaissance Nashville Hotel.  Kayla and Trenton exit the backseat first and then they are followed by Angelica Jones who exits the driver’s side with a wide ear to ear grin on her face.  There is an air of confidence that the sisters seem to give off as Angelica approaches the hotel valet, dropping the keys in his hand so he can go park her car.

Trenton Snow, Kayla’s husband and thus Angelica’s brother-in-law, walks in with the siblings into the lobby of the Renaissance.  It’s just a few hours since SCW Breakdown came to an end and they have changed back into their street clothes; Angelica is wearing denim jeans, black boots, a flame print t-shirt, and a black leather jacket.  Her long red hair hangs down unrestrained to shoulder length.  Her sister Kayla is wearing a floral print frock with quarter sleeves and a hemline that stops just below the knees.  Her feet are encased in black high heeled pumps.

Angelica leads Trenton and Kayla towards the front desk when…

“Angelica!  Angelica!”

The redhead is startled by this strange, unusual voice.  It is unfamiliar.  She turns and doesn’t recognize the voice’s owner as an individual in denim jeans, tennis, a plaid shirt, and thick glasses rushes up to her.  She sighs as she realizes it’s a reporter of some sort.

Angelica smiles politely and waves at this unfamiliar individual who she assumes wants to ask her a bunch of questions.  Kayla, though, is Angelica’s agent in the country music scene.  She has managed her career for quite awhile now and she considers it an obligation, not just as a sister but as her agent, to protect Angelica from these people.

Thus Kayla is seen getting right in between this reporter and Angelica.  Kayla shakes her head.

“No, no questions for her.”

“But…”

“We’ve had a long night.  We’re done for the day.”

The reporter is about to protest but Angelica surprises everyone by stepping up in front of her sister, facing the reporter.

“Actually, Kayla, I think it’s ok.”

Kayla blinks with surprise.

“Are you sure?”

“Positive.”

Kayla sighs and shrugs her shoulders.  Angelica turns her attention to the reporter who is now grinning from ear to ear, seemingly excited about getting this interview.

“Uh, yeah, my name is Andrea and I’m working on a piece about you and Kayla for the Lifezette.”

Angelica furrows her brow in confusion.

“Lifezette?”

“Yeah, it’s a website and…”

“Oh I know what it is.  Laura Ingram is the Editor in Chief.  But since Ingram runs it, I thought it was purely about politics.”

Andrea shakes her head.

“Politics may be our main thing but it is definitely not our only thing.  We have FaithZette and MomZette and PopZette.  I’m writing a piece for PopZette.  And you gotta admit that it makes sense.”

Angelica rolls her eyes.

“How does it make sense?  I’m not a pop star.”

“You are a singer and you are a wrestler.  All in all, you are a great entertainer, Ms. Jones, and I think that makes perfect sense for us to cover you.”

Kayla smirks.

“She makes a good point, sis.”

“Fine, I don’t agree with you but, go ahead.  Ask.”

Andrea nods her head.  She pulls out her iPhone and presses a button to record their conversation.

“How difficult is it to manage being both a wrestler and a country music recording artist?”

“It’s tough and it does create some sleepless nights.  Supreme Championship Wrestling tours all over the world, I also have UWA commitments and GCW commitments.  That’s not to mention the commitments of my singing career, but the singing and the wrestling…”

She smiles warmly.

“…I love it.  They are my passions, so that helps.”

Angelica reaches over and places an arm around her sister’s shoulders.

“Plus it helps that my sister officially manages my singing career! When my sister is my agent in the country music world and my tag team partner in the wrestling world, it makes things so much easier.”

“Do you care to comment on your wrestling career?  You call yourselves The Sisterhood, correct?”

Angelica nods her head.

“Yes, and we just came back from an SCW booking in which we wrestled Vixen Cain and Merrick Wiseman.  In a little less than a week, in our UWA booking, we’ll be facing Gwen Black and Connor Green.  If we can win, we’ll get a shot at the UWA World Tag Team Championship.  And we want this match.  We want it badly.  Our first UWA World Tag Team Championship match ended in disappointment.  We had the current champions, Ginger Nation, dead to rights and would’ve been champions right now had it not been for a little bit of bad luck.  We know we have the Ginger Nation’s number.  We just have to get them in the ring against us.  And if we have to go through Black and Green first in order to get that title shot then so be it.”

Andrea nods her head and shuts off her iPhone before putting it away in her pocket.

“Thank you, Ms. Jones!”

Andrea holds out her hand and Angelica accepts the handshake.

“Good luck to you and your sister!”

“Thanks Andrea, but this time we make our own luck.”

With that, Andrea walks away, ready to write her article.  Angelica smiles as she turns back around to face Kayla.  The younger member of The Sisterhood smirks smugly at the older sibling.

“You must be feeling generous.”

“What do you mean?”

“You’ve never willingly agreed to these random interviews!”

Angelica shrugs her shoulders.

“Maybe I’m softening up?”

“Softening up or not, I think you should stay like this.”

Angelica chuckles as she continues her approach towards the front desk.  Trenton Snow and Kayla are following very closely behind.  They are greeted by a handsome young man with dark black hair and a smile that could swoon most ladies.  He is dressed to kill, as well, in a nice dark navy blue suit and tie with a white button up shirt. There is a reason he works the front desk and that’s because he has the looks.

The trio at the desk, though, are not impressed.  The young man looks up and smiles warmly.

“Yes, my sister and her husband are back for the night.  They’re going to be heading up to the room shortly.”

Angelica slides some cash towards the man.

“Have someone take a bottle of your finest wine to their room.”

He nods his head.

“Of course.”

With that Angelica turns to face Kayla, who frowns, shaking her head.

“You shouldn’t have done that, Angelica.”

“I wanted to.”

Kayla and Angelica embrace in a tight hug.

“Now you and Trenton go on and have fun, ok?  I’ll talk to you tomorrow.”

“Right, tomorrow.”

With that Kayla and Trenton turn and walk towards the elevators.  Angelica meanwhile makes her way towards the exit.  But right before she can get to the exit she hears a jingling sound.  It’s her phone ringing.  She stops dead in her tracks and then produces her phone.  She looks at the screen…it’s a text message.  She gazes curiously at the message.

“…Lindsey?  What are you doing in Nashville?”

==========
Scene 2
Off Camera
==========

The skies in Nashville are dark.  The only lights come from the moon and a few overhead street lamps.  Off in the distance is the light of downtown Nashville.  Otherwise it is quite calm and quiet in this usually very active city.  We are in Nashville, but not the downtown area where all of the action and excitement is.  We’re almost on the outskirts of the big city of music.  Wind blows lightly, causing the leaves to rustle on the ground.

Off in the distance we can see a rather large home belonging to someone of wealth.  From the outside this house looks lavish, it has been built with white cedar wood and has oak wooden decorations left over from Christmas.  Tall, large windows brighten up the house and have been added t o the house in a very symmetric way.  The building itself is rectangular shaped. It is fully surrounded by wooden overhanging panels.  The second floor is smaller than the first, which, in combination with its placement, creates an original look.  This floor has a very different style on the floor below.

The roof is high, triangular, but one side is longer than the other and is covered with red roof tiles.  One small chimney pokes out the center of the roof.  A few round, small windows let in enough light to the rooms below the roof.  The house itself is surrounded by a gorgeous garden, including various trees, bushes, flowers, and a large pond.

The same rental car from earlier is seen parked out in front of this large house.  Obviously this is Angelica Jones and that proves to be the case as she exits the car and hurriedly makes her way up the walkway that leads to the front door of this home that happens to be her home.

Yes, Angelica owns this home. She felt it necessary to have a place to stay in Nashville during the weeks she spent in the city recording a new album or on the rare occasions she was blessed and honored with the privilege of singing at the Grand Ole Opry.  Her wrestling career obviously comes first, but she also wants to focus on her singing career as well, and this home allows her to do that.

She loves it in Nashville, not as much as she loves it in her hometown of Boston but she does love it here nonetheless, and she normally wouldn’t be worried about returning to her home here in Nashville.  But the text message she received from her wife Lindsey Carter has her worried.

Lindsey is here in Nashville and, initially, Lindsey wasn’t going to be coming with them to Nashville.  What brings her here to music city?

Immediately upon reaching the front door Angelica reaches for its knob, turns it, and opens the door.  Angelica steps inside and then shuts the door behind her.

“Lindsey!”

“I’m in the living room.”

Angelica turns right and heads towards the living room.  She finds her lovely raven haired wife sitting in the middle of the black leather sofa against a wall opposite of a big screen television set.

“Hi, Linds!”

Lindsey is wearing a cream colored knee length dress with a scoop neckline.  A frown is etched across her face, a direct contrast to the warm grin on Angelica’s face as she approaches the sofa.  Angelica sits down but Lindsey immediately stands up, causing Angelica’s curiosity to peak; and it causes her concern to grow even more.

“Uh, Lindsey?  Are you ok?”

“Not exactly.”

Lindsey Carter makes it a point to keep her back turned to Angelica.  Jones stands up and places her hands on Lindsey’s shoulders.

“Well I did figure that something must be wrong.  You told me that you weren’t coming to Nashville with me, you said that you were going to stay in Boston until I got back.”

“I changed my mind.”

Angelica chuckles lightly, yet nervously.

“Obviously!”

“I don’t think you understand, Angelica.”

The Boston native shakes her head.

“No, I don’t, but that’s just because you haven’t explained anything yet.”

Lindsey turns around.  Tears have formed in her eyes and are starting to roll down her cheek.  Now Angelica’s concern and worries have reached their peak.

“Uh, Linds?  What’s wrong?”

“Angelica, I…”

Lindsey shakes her head.

“…I just can’t take it any longer.  I’m leaving you!”

It could’ve been anything and Angelica could’ve taken it better than this.  Angelica could’ve expected anything; anything but this.  Angelica shakes her head vehemently as if she denies the reality before her right now.

“No Lindsey, no…you can’t mean it, we…”

“Oh come on, Angelica!  Don’t be dumb.  You had to know this was coming eventually and if you didn’t, then maybe you really are dumb.”

She points an accusatory finger at Angelica.

“You tricked me into falling in love with you!  You tricked me into marrying you and you colluded with Meagan Collins into tricking me into signing that nasty prenuptial agreement, you remember it, don’t you?”

Angelica winces.  Lindsey is right about all of these painful truths.  This was done during a time in Angelica’s life she’d like to forget.

“I was a different person, Lindsey…”

“Oh really?  Was that The Dragon?”

Lindsey rolls her eyes.

“Whatever you want to call it, whatever label you want to slap on it, it was still you.  You worked with Meagan to trick me into signing the prenuptial agreement which made me your legal slave, because I couldn’t you.”

She shakes her head.

“I couldn’t leave you because if I did, if we got divorced, Meagan would get full control of Carter Industries.  Either you would control me or Meagan would control my company.  YOU did that, Angelica.”

Now there are real tears forming in Angelica’s eyes as she struggles for words, struggles for a defense.

“But…but we fell for one another…I really did fall for you.”

“Yes, over time you legitimately fell in love with me, and I legitimately fell for you, but did you think I forgot about what you and Meagan did?  Does it change what you and Meagan did?”

Angelica tries to hug Lindsey but she pushes Jones away.

“But Lindsey, we loved each other…”

“Do we?  How often are we together?  I only see you when you’re not wrestling.  And between your SCW commitments, your UWA commitments, your GCW commitments, and being a country music singer, I hardly ever see you!  You are hardly ever home!”

She points a finger at Angelica.

“You are a rock star!  You a superstar!  The world loves you and the world gets to spend time with you but do I get to spend time with you?”

Lindsey shakes her head.

“No...I never get time with you.”

“But Lindsey, please, let me explain…”

“There’s nothing to explain.”

Lindsey turns and walks away from Angelica and out of the living room.  Angelica, seeing her wife walk away from her, goes after her.  Lindsey opens the door and walks out.  Angelica follows her outside.

“Lindsey, wait!”

“I’m leaving you, Angelica.  In the next few weeks I will file for divorce.   Meagan will get my company but…oh well…shit happens.  I should’ve been smarter than to sign that damn paper.”

Lindsey starts to walk away.  Angelica has one last, desperate plea left in her.

“Don’t leave me!  I’ll do anything to make this work!”

Lindsey stops dead in her tracks.

“Anything?”

“Anything!”

Lindsey turns to face Angelica.

“SCW, UWA, GCW, or country music.  Pick one and stick with it!”

Angelica pauses.  She isn’t sure she can make that decision.  She knows she should but she isn’t sure that she can.

“But…I…”

Lindsey sighs and shakes her head.

“That’s what I thought.  Goodbye, Angelica.”

With that, Lindsey turns and walks away.  Angelica drops to her knees and starts to cry…

==========
On Camera
==========

We open in front of a UWA logo backdrop.  Angelica Jones is standing in front of that backdrop and her sister, Kayla Jones-Snow, is standing to her left.  The women are stoic as they stare straight ahead into the camera, focused intensely.  Angelica is wearing an elegant shift dress with sheer peasant sleeves and latticework panels. Black stockings run all the way up the dress and they blend in almost perfectly with the black dress itself and the black high heeled pumps that comfortably encase her feet.  Kayla is wearing a lavender tank dress that features a pleated stretch lace bodice and a skirt that flutters at the hem.  Kayla is the first to speak up.

“Sophie and Kimberly are sitting pretty right now.  They think quite highly of themselves, as they should.  They’ve been tag team champions for over a calendar year.  They have beaten every tag team UWA has to offer and even a few SCW had to offer, including Angelica and I.  We could argue that it was a triple threat or that we weren’t pinned, but hey, we won’t make any excuses.  We’re competitors to the core and at the end of the day, a win is a win.  But they’re probably gloating the most over what went down at Against All Odds, the #GingerHoax when they pulled the wool over the eyes of not just the entire UWA, but arguably the entire Triad.”

Kayla and Angelica proceed with sarcastic golf claps.

“Congratulations, ladies.”

Angelica nods her head in agreement.

“Yeah, soak it up while you can, because while you won’t admit it, you know what we know and that’s that The Sisterhood has your number.  We know how to beat you and, if given a one on one shot, without any other teams involved, just us against you two, that we can beat you.  We had you dead to rights on Outbreak but you were lucky that Sophie had covered Niles just a half second before I covered Kimberly.  You are tag team champions right now only because of luck and soon, very soon might I add, that luck is about to run out.”

Kayla smirks.

“That’s right, Angelica, because while you may be the best team in town right now, no one is the best forever.  That is a lesson about this sport that we all have to learn someday.  It’s a hard lesson.  It’s a difficult lesson.  But everyone has to learn that lesson.  It’s your turn to learn that lesson and you will learn that lesson at the hands of either The Sisterhood or Gwen Black and Connor Green.”

Angelica looks over at Kayla with a confused look on her face.

“Don’t you mean that they’ll learn that lesson at the hands of The Sisterhood?”

Kayla frowns.

“We have to earn it first, sis.”

“Oh yeah, I forgot.”

Kayla rolls her eyes before continuing.

“Gwen, Connor, you are Ante Up Alumni and that in and of itself speaks highly of what you two are capable of.  What the Ante Up crew has done in wrestling this past year alone is extraordinary and now you two are looking to take it to the next level and potentially become the tag team champions of the world.  You have a steep hill to climb to do that, and I don’t just mean the Ginger Nation.”

She motions to herself and Angelica.

“You have The Sisterhood to deal with.  We admit that we have not made the kind of impact we wanted to make this past year of 2016 and we damn sure have not made the kind of impact the Ante Up crew has made this past year.  But we’re damn sure ready to make up for it and make that impact in 2017 and this opportunity on the first show of 2017 for UWA’s Outbreak will be our time to make that impact.”

Angelica sighs.

“You’re great athletes, there’s no denying that, and we’ll no doubt have a hell of a match, but understand that Kayla and I have been chasing tag team gold for a very long time and we’re not going to go easy on anyone who stands in our way of achieving that goal.”

Angelica holds up her thumb and index finger very close together.

“We were this close to dethroning the Ginger Nation.  We had them beat but a combination of bad timing and bad luck saved their sorry asses.  That’s why Kayla and I KNOW that we can become UWA World Tag Team Champions.  That’s why we KNOW that we are the team that can dethrone the Ginger Nation.”

She holds up one finger.

“We just need one shot at the titles, one tag title opportunity without anyone else in the way.  Just us…and just the Ginger Nation….”

She points at the camera.

“…but currently, and unfortunately Gwen and Connor, you are in the way.”

Kayla nods her head.

“Yes, and that means one of us has to go.  One of us has to step aside and let the other have that shot at the Ginger Nation.  Can you two honestly say that you can beat Sophie and Kimberly?”

Kayla shrugs her shoulders.

“Maybe you can, but Angelica and I KNOW that we can beat them.  We just have to prove to Helms and Bryant that we deserve the opportunity to once again try and beat them.  And to prove it to them, to earn that shot, we first have to beat you.”

Angelica nods her head in agreement.

“We will fight, we will bleed if we have to, but we will not quit.  We will not stop fighting until that final bell rings and if you do manage to beat us, then good luck and do us a favor will you?  Take those belts off of Sophie and Kim.”

Angelica smirks knowingly.

“But we don’t plan on losing.  We plan on doing everything we can to win.  And then we’re going to move on to face the Ginger Nation and we’ll beat their asses too.”

Kayla slaps her leg.

“Gwen and Connor, but more especially Ginger Nation, get ready, because we’re going to kick your teeth, right down your throat!”
