Hostile Takeover

Apocalypse was when Angelica Jones and Sienna Swann (mostly Angelica) dominated and decimated two no-name local jobbers.  The goal was to introduce the world to Sienna Swann.  Instead what everyone got was Angelica Jones reminding the wrestling world just what she is capable of as she fended off both opponents by herself.

It was also a reminder to Angelica herself, for she had indeed forgotten what she was, who she was, and what her goal was in this industry.  She had truly let herself become to laid back and relaxed, allowing everyone else in the industry to rush on by her.  Apocalypse was when Angelica remembered that she wasn’t just another professional athlete…

…she was Firestar, the high flying, durable, never say die, warrior.

…she was The Golden Goddess, the extremely focused ultimate student of the game.

…she was The Dragon, the deadliest woman in professional wrestling.

The Dragon came out to play in her match against David Helms and as a result she became too crazed, too insane, too focused on hurting him rather than winning.  As a result she got disqualified.  But no matter, she sent a message at Apocalypse, she sent a message at Breakdown, and she was prepared to send yet another message to Shaun Cruze.

For Jones this is now a matter of pride and proving a point.  This is about sending a message and that message will not be sent merely by hurting Shaun Cruze.  Angelica plans on being focused and maintaining her composure.  This time, unlike last time, she will keep The Dragon at bay until she pins Cruze’s shoulders to the mat for the three count or until she makes him tap out.

After that is through, then she’ll let The Dragon come out to play, then she’ll hurt Shaun Cruze.

Lindsey Carter, on the other hand, has never quite fully understood her wife’s obsession with greatness in professional wrestling.  Why?  Why bother with greatness when you have already proven yourself to be awesome?

Carter realizes, though, that Angelica is a competitor, while she comes from a luxurious culture of wealth and privilege.  Carter wouldn’t understand what competition is about and what it means to be the best in the world.  So she has tried to deal with Angelica’s obsession, even to the point of her allegiance with Silas Mason.  She knows what Silas is all about, but if Silas can make Angelica happy by making her a champion then so be it.  Lindsey just wants Angelica to be happy.

The lovely and vivacious Lindsey Carter steps off the bed in a revealing, skimpy lacy black bra and panty combination.  The brunette glides effortlessly across the floor towards the sound of the shuffling in the bathroom.  Instead of taking the gold colored doorknob, she chooses to just push the door open.  Inside she spots her wife, the red-headed vixen known as Angelica Jones, styling her hair to make sure it looks ever so lovely.  One thing odd about this is the blonde coloration of the hair is starting to go away, and her natural redness is returning.  Also Angelica, normally a girl likes to sleep late, is not only awake early but is dressed in her finest business attire, which includes a black pencil skirt, black high heel pumps, a white silky blouse, and a black blazer.  Even while sporting a corporate look, Angelica looks pretty sexy and Lindsey appreciate this view she gets even if for a moment of Angelica’s backside through the skirt.

“Staring is very impolite.”

Angelica’s words startle Lindsey Carter who had been almost in a trance-like state while staring at her lovely, beautiful wife.  Her face grows beet red with embarrassment as she watches Angelica turn around to face her with a knowing grin on her face.

“Well?”

“Well what?”

“You’ve been staring at me long enough.” Jones states as she spins around one time. “How do I look?”

It didn’t take much for Lindsey to get over her embarrassment of the situation.  She simply nods her head, grinning from ear to ear.

“You look great, Angel.”

With her two hands, Jones motions for her wife to approach her.  You don’t have to ask Lindsey twice.  So, without any hesitation, the lovely Carter gracefully makes her way over the threshold and into the bathroom, into the waiting arms of Angelica Jones.  They embrace, their lips slowly guide themselves together, coming closer to one another almost as if guided by gravity, until they lock lips in a passionate kiss.  The pair break off the kiss but remain in each other’s arms.  Lindsey gazes deep into her partner’s eyes.

“That was surprising…”

“Are you complaining?” Angelica asks with a wink.

“Hell no!” Carter exclaims. “I just wasn’t expecting such passion this early.”

Their lips meet for a second time as they resume their kiss.  Finally they break it off and again their eyes meet, almost as if studying one another.  Even though she enjoys the attention this early in the morning, Lindsey Carter still has some questions and her curiosity gets the better of her.

“Uh, Angel, not that I’m complaining about the early attention,” Lindsey starts off sounding a little nervous “but something is wrong.”

“What is it?”

“I can tell something is wrong here, Angel.” She points out, still nervous. “You never are up this early.  And when you dress like that, dressed to kill, then I know you have some plot brewing.”

There is a moment where the two women just stare at one another blankly.  It is Angelica who breaks the ice first, laughing lightly.  Lindsey follows suit and eventually both women are laughing quite a bit.

“You know me all too well…”

“I am a quick study.” Lindsey responds with a wink.

“Indeed you are,” Angelica sighs “but there is one thing that you were not aware of about me.”

“What’s that?”

“Forgotten already?” Angelica chuckles lightly. “I told you last week…my obsession with being a champion.  You weren’t aware of that, were you?”

The brunette is taken aback only for a moment.  She had indeed forgotten about last week.  She had forgotten pretty quickly.  She was surprised when she found out about Angelica’s obsession but grew to accept it, even though she may not understand it.  Angelica Jones is a wrestler, a competitor.  Competitors want to be the best.  Angelica is no different.

“Oh yeah, I did forget.” She laughs lightly. “Silly me.”

“Yeah, silly you.” Angelica frowns. “And unfortunately for you it will cost you.”

“Huh?” Lindsey looks quizzically, confused, not sure what her wife means by that choice of words.

“I asked you last week after informing you of my obsession if you were ok with it?  You said rather emphatically that you were.”

Lindsey recalls this, as she nods her head, informing Angelica through a passionate kiss that she was indeed ok with her obsession.  She didn’t think anything of it.

“Yeah, I remember that…”

“I remember it too, and I thought long and hard about what I told you that night.  After we were done making love, and I went to sleep, I had a vision…it just hit me, I was illuminated!”

“Oh?”

The Dragon is now into it.  She nods her head quickly, enthusiastically.  “I realized that I am the best in the world and that I deserve to be on top of the world.”

Lindsey Carter nods her head. “You got no arguments from me!”

She attempts to lean in and kiss her again but Angelica pushes her away, much to Lindsey’s surprise.

“Good because things are going to change.  Even when it comes to Silas World.  I have no problem helping Sienna Swann if Silas Mason wants to build his empire around her.  If Silas Mason wants me to destroy Kelcey Wallace or Kari Mysac or whatever the hell her name is now, then I’ll do it.  And I have absolutely no problem taking out Shaun Cruze.”

Angelica shuts her eyes, a grin forms across her face. “Funny…I’m fighting Tay-Tay’s brother-in-law.  I hope there’s no friction in Silas World after I beat him half to death!”

Normally a healthy dose of sarcasm is to be expected from Angelica Jones and Lindsey Carter is ok with it.  But this is going a bit too far even for Angelica’s standards.

“ Are you ok, Angel?” Lindsey asks nervously.

“I’ve never been better!” She exclaims loudly. “Like I said, I have had an epiphany and that epiphany told me that I deserve to be the best in this business because I AM the best in this business.  I know who Shaun Cruze is…but I just simply don’t care, Linds.  He is just the next victim and I am going to pulverize him….and I am going to beat him.”

Jones frowns. “I am not someone’s thug.  I am pretty sure Silas doesn’t view me that way but if he does, then I am going to remind him of just how valuable of an asset I am.”

“No one ever thought you were just a thug.” Lindsey kisses her lightly on the cheek. “You are a tremendous wrestler.  Everyone knows that.”

“No, they don’t.” Jones shakes her head. “And that’s another lie from you.”

“Lie?!”

“That’s right, I said a lie.” Jones half-grins as she holds up her hand and starts counting them off. “You lied that you knew everything about me, you lied about understanding why I have to be the best in pro-wrestling, and you’re lying now when you say you and everyone else knows that I am not a thug.”

Lindsey starts backing away slowly. “What’s this about, Angel?  You’re scaring me.”

“Good, because you should be scared.” Angelica chuckles lightly. “I’m even slightly scared myself.  I haven’t been in this mindset in quite a long time.  Who knows what I might do?  But I do know one thing I am going to do.”

“What’s that?”  Lindsey is afraid to ask but she has to know.

“Something I should have done a long time ago.  Our marriage gave me a near limitless supply of resources.  I never used it until recently.”

Lindsey’s confusion changes.  She frowns as she wonders what exactly her wife did with her money.

“What did you do, Angelica?”

“Thanks to the prenuptial agreement you signed I am a part owner of Carter Incorporated.  I made a few phone calls and now OUR company is in possession of a wrestling organization.”

Lindsey arches her brows. “You bought a wrestling federation?!”

“I did…and I’m off to finalize the deal now.” Angelica smirks. “But this is just part of my plan…wait until you hear part two…”

I admittedly am very green when it comes to the wrestling industry.  I did not grow up around this business.  Hell, the closest I came to having any relationship to it was that my arch rival in the business world happened to be a wrestler herself.  That’s it.  Zero experience.  Nada.  Though I am training to be a wrestler, I am learning about the craft and I am learning to appreciate the legacy of those who came before me.

I am learning it from my wife, Angelica Jones.

You people in SCW truly do sicken me.  I am talking to the fans and the roster alike.  You are all so quick to judge her because of who she surrounds herself with rather than try to get to know her for who she is.

So you don’t like Silas Mason?  Who cares?  FORGET HIM!  His name is Silas Mason.  It is NOT Angelica Jones.  You cannot base your opinion of my wife around the actions of her manager.

Do I question his motives and tactics?  Of course I do.  But I also know who the real Angelica Jones is…she tries to do what is right in the long run.  Sometimes she makes mistakes, but who doesn’t?  She only wants what’s best for her family…

…and yes, for herself as well.

If you are going to try and argue that you wouldn’t do whatever it took to better your own career then you’re lying.  As a woman who grew up in the business world I got to see the true heart and soul of men and women from all walks of life.  They were all the same.  They all wanted what’s best for them…as well as their loved ones.

That’s why she does what she does.

You know what else I know about Angelica?  I know that she is among the best wrestlers in the world today.  She is a twelve time world champion and a member of three different halls of fame.  She could retire now and her legacy is forever cemented but she is sticking around, for the love of competition and for the fans.

That’s who Angelica Jones is.

I know her match against Shaun Cruze has the potential to be one of the greatest matches in SCW history.  The most recent world champion against a twelve time world champion.  And I can tell you, Shaun, that her goal isn’t to hurt you or cripple you for Silas Mason’s benefit…

…she just wants to defeat you.

And I am here to warn you that I have not seen her this focused and this determined in quite awhile.  Something has changed.  Something has gotten inside her and amped up her intensity level.  That means you had better bring your A-Game, Cruze.  You had better come prepared for a fight because Angelica Jones is damn sure ready for a war.

At the beginning of their relationship Lindsey Carter had feared Angelica Jones.  She had heard all the stories of the crimes perpetrated by Jones when she snapped, during her angry rages.  But as time went on, even after it was revealed that she had been tricked into selling her entire state to Jones in the process of the marriage, Lindsey still did not fear what Angelica might do.  She still had grown to trust the Boston native, she still had grown to love her and to care for her.  Tonight was the first time in a long time that Angelica had actually frightened Lindsey and yet still, despite that, the lovely wife of Angelica Jones still wants to accompany her today to see how their wealth is being spent.

Lindsey is dressed very much like Angelica in a pencil skirt, white silky blouse, and blazer with matching pumps on her feet, but unlike Angelica her skirt, blazer, and pumps are a brighter color, orange specifically, as opposed to Angelica’s black.

The two women are sitting side by side on a plus black leather sofa in a fancy office somewhere in Miami, Florida.  The red carpeting is soft, so soft it is tempting Angelica to kick her heels off and wriggle her toes in the carpet.  The carpet is red, the walls are a dark brown color.  Two large, pretty plants are next to the large wall sized window where there is a desk overlooking the skyline.  But the beautiful sky scene isn’t enough to make Angelica patient…

“I wish he’d get here already.”

Lindsey chuckles.  Angelica is a wrestler, a competitor, and that is something Lindsey is still learning about.  But the business world, the corporate world, is something Angelica doesn’t know much about.  Lindsey does.  She is used to these waits.

“It’ll be ok, sweetie.  Give him time.”

“I don’t like to be kept waiting.”

Lindsey takes Angelica’s right hand and squeezes it tightly.  In response Angelica turns and gazes deep into Lindsey’s eyes.  Carter just smiles happily, warmly, hoping she can calm her impatient wife down.

“Trust me, the wait will be worth it.”

“Oh I know it will be worth it.” Angelica says with a low growl in her voice. “But that doesn’t mean I have to like this wait.”

Lindsey sighs with a hint of frustration in her voice. “Look Angel, how long did it take you to win a world championship after losing your last one?”

“It was over four years.”

“You waited, and waited patiently might I add, four years until you met Silas Mason and he guided you to a world title.  Then you won another world title on top of that.”

“Right, and now I’m empty handed…”

“But not for long.” Lindsey says with a sly smile on her face. “Soon you’ll have something better than a world championship.”

Angelica nods her head in agreement.  It isn’t as if she has never owned a company before.  Twice she tried her hand at running a federation but both times the lure of competition caused her to step down very quickly.  This time she intends to see it through for the long haul.

“Maybe you’re right…”

“I know I’m right.”  Lindsey leans over and kisses Angelica on her cheek. “You may not have that world title any longer, but soon you will have that whole company…it will be yours…”

“Bringing an entire wrestling company to Silas World…” Angelica smiles as she muses out loud “…top that Kari Mysac…”

Just then the door to the office opens.  Angelica and Lindsey both look on with surprise as the man who enters isn’t who they expected, though it is a man who is dressed for business in a sharp looking double breasted business suit, navy blue in coloration.

“Good evening, ladies.” He extends his hand. “I’m Samuel Jameson, and I…”

“I know who you are.” Angelica refuses to accept his handshake, though Lindsey does. “Why couldn’t your client be here himself?”

“My client had another pressing matter he needed to attend to.” The man, clearly a lawyer, opens the briefcase he was carrying in with him and shows Angelica and Lindsey some paperwork. “But I have the contracts drawn up.  His signature is already there.”

“So it just needs Angelica’s signature?” Lindsey inquires.

“That’s right.”

Angelica stands up and faces the lawyer eye to eye. “I wanted him to be here personally, to watch me take over his company himself…”

“I’m sure, but unfortunately he couldn’t be here.”

Angelica nods. “Cowardly.  But that’s fine, I’m ready to look at the bigger picture.  I know what’s important right now and that is power.  And by signing this contract, I gain a hell of a lot of power.”

“I would imagine so, Ms. Jones,” the lawyer says with a wide grin “this is a well-known promotion you are acquiring.”

Angelica turns and looks at Lindsey. “What do you think, Linds?”

“What do I think?” She grins knowingly. “I think you’d be one of the most powerful women in wrestling…at least Silas World anyway.”

“Then what are we waiting for, ladies?”

The lawyer takes the paperwork out and then goes over to the desk.  He sits down at the desk as Angelica approaches.  He slides the contract and a pen over to her.

“Feel free to read it if you want, Ms. Jones, but I believe your lawyers have already been over it with a fine tooth comb.”

“Indeed they have, and I am done waiting,” she takes the pen and immediately flips to the last page and signs on the dotted line “it’s done.”

The lawyer looks over the paperwork one final time and then at her signature.  He grins and looks back up at Angelica.

“Congratulations, Ms. Jones, you are the new owner of Pro-Wrestling FRONTIER…”

I remember fondly the day that I began my training to become a professional wrestler.  I had the perfect trainer, not some one-dimensional high flyer or one-dimensional technical guy.  I had a well-rounded athlete who knew every aspect of the game, from the submissions to high risk and the mind games that are played as well.  And he taught me everything he knew.  My trainer was very good to me, because even after my training was complete he took that extra step that he didn’t have to take in helping me to get started in the Global Division of Wrestling.

GDW was where I got my start but I didn’t stay there.  I expanded my horizons and my influence to the Millennium Wrestling Alliance, Motor City Wrestling, Future Wrestling Alliance, International Wrestling Championship, Global Championship Wrestling, and finally to Pro-Wrestling FRONTIER.

Yes, I have been everywhere, and everywhere I have been I have won championship gold.  Twelve times across those federations I have been a world champion and I have been inducted into the GDW Hall of Fame, MWA Hall of Fame, and MCW Hall of Fame.  I have done everything a wrestler could hope to do.

During my career I even took a brief sabbatical to try my hand at being a manager.  The protégé I took under my wing was none other than Brittany Lohan.  I hope my fellow Silas World member doesn’t take offense when I take credit for some of her maturity and evolution as a competitor in this business.  Truth is, I wanted to do for her exactly what my old trainer did for me.  I taught her everything I knew.  I managed her to several MCW Motor City Championship matches.  Oh she came so close to the title.  But my patience served me well as I eventually watched her go on to become a MCW World Champion and a GDW World Champion.  My biggest pride was in watching my best friend become champion but there was also a sense of pride knowing that I had indeed been successful as a manager and as a trainer in this industry.

Only one aspect of the game kept me from coming full circle and that was being an executive.  I was the owner of GDW once upon a time but I sold it back to the founder Mike Michaels after the lure of competition brought me back.  I was the general manager of the livewire brand of Motor City Wrestling but yet again I gave that up in order to remain on as a wrestler.

It may sound cheesy but it is a true statement that we are all lifelong learners.  When you stop learning, you are dead.  That is a fact.  For awhile I was dead.  I thought that all I needed to be successful and to achieve my goal of power in this industry was to win titles.  I was thinking short term.  But I learned recently that to truly become powerful and influential you have to think long term.  I also learned that there is more to power than a gold trinket.

Don’t get me wrong, I will be champion again, sooner than you think, but the balance of power has already shifted in my favor, not just in Silas World but in the wrestling industry as a whole.  Because I just gave Silas World a gift.  I gave myself a gift.

I am the new owner of Pro-Wrestling FRONTIER.

That’s right, I am the owner of my own wrestling company.  I now have come full circle.  I have done it all in this industry.  Successful wrestler, successful manager, and now successful executive.  I can truly and honestly say that I…AM…PROFESSIONAL…WRESTLING!

And Shaun Cruze is about to learn that first hand.

You’re good Cruze, there’s no taking that away from you.  You were a former world champion, there’s no taking that away from you.  I will always give credit where credit is due.  You are truly among the greats in Supreme Championship Wrestling.

But as great as you are…I am that much better than you.  That’s not arrogance, that’s confidence.  That is a lifetime of experience that tells me that no matter what you do, no matter what strategy or approach you may use, I will be able to match you move for move, hold for hold, and I will find a way to win no matter what.

To keep me down you have to inflict enough punishment but the thing is, I am too durable for that.  I can take a lot of punishment and a lot of abuse.  I have a high threshold of pain and I know you don’t have what it takes to keep me down for the count.  You may beat me up, you may very well draw first blood, but you will never keep me pinned to the mat and you will never ever make me submit.

The best thing you can hope for is to kill me, Shaun.  Do you have the guts to do that?

Another thing that I know, and something you’re going to learn real quick, is that your talent and ability, which is unmistakable, won’t be enough by itself to carry you to a victory over The Golden Goddess.

I’m smarter than you, Cruze.  That’s another advantage I have over you.  I am just plain smarter than you.  I am always two steps ahead of everyone else, inside and outside of the ring.  I am always thinking, I always have a plan in mind for how to succeed.  I will outthink you, I will outwit you.

Although, now that I think about it, outthinking you shouldn’t be too hard…

Seriously, Cruze, did you get dropped on your head as a child?  Think back to when your brother Orlando was crucified by Sinistry.  Silas World came back the very next Riot and got revenge.  I was there, helping out.  We crucified one of their boys.  Jacob Laymon.

Gotta say, crucifying my old boss was fun…

But why did I do it?  I did it out of respect for Orlando.  Yeah, Silas got his moment in the sun, but for me it was about sticking it to Sinistry.  For me it was about giving them a taste of what they had giving to everyone else.  That’s why I did it.

But if you want to be enemies that’s fine.  I respect Orlando but you make me sick and if you want to fight, if you want a war, I’ll give you a war on Breakdown, and a war is the perfect birthday present for me.

That’s right, ladies and gentlemen…and Shaun…the day after Breakdown, October 2nd, is my birthday.  Happy birthday to me!  And I couldn’t think of any better way to celebrate than to maim Shaun Cruze and kick his ass up and down that arena!

So I am the new owner of FRONTIER…and I get to maim Shaun Cruze…

…happy birthday to me!

My Obsession

==========

==========

You didn’t get to see Sienna Swann make her SCW at Apocalypse.  I’m sorry.  Instead you got to see the return of The Golden Goddess…

I had allowed myself to become stale and stagnant.  I let myself become weak and losing to Jake Starr of all people, not to mention losing my GFC World Championship, helped wake me up to the realization that I needed to make a change.

The sign of a true champion is that you can make adjustments and make a change when necessary.  I made that change in time for Apocalypse and I completely picked apart Silas Mason’s handpicked local talent.

Sorry, boys, but at least you got your fifteen seconds of fame in.  Unfortunately, those were also the fifteen most painful seconds in your short, pathetic careers.

Who am I?  I am not The Dragon.  I am The Golden Goddess, the embodiment of what it means to be a professional wrestler, the ultimate student of the game.

David Helms should count himself as lucky, lucky to get the rare opportunity to share the ring with greatness.  You may doubt my greatness right now but at Breakdown I will eliminate all doubt.  You will criticize my arrogance but I will shut you up when that bell rings.  I am the Golden Goddess and the squared circle is my world.

==========

Apocalypse was a successful night for Angelica Jones as she and Sienna Swann dominated two no-name local curtain jerkers.  It got Angelica back to her winning ways in SCW and that is a good thing but not good enough.  Angelica did all the heavy lifting, and yes she did look good having to basically fight two people by herself, but still it wasn’t a challenge.  These two men were jokes and Angelica needs to remind SCW that she is not a joke, that she is indeed a force to be reckoned with, and it doesn’t matter how dominating she can be against Silas Mason’s handpicked local talent, there is still only one way Angelica can, at least in her own mind, prove that she is no joke…

…win championship gold.

Angelica Jones will get a more serious challenge coming up on next Breakdown in the form of David Helms.  At least this time she has a real opponent and not some goon who has been set up for failure.  Everyone knew, Angelica included, that Apocalypse was not a serious match.  Silas World dominated from bell to bell.  It was too easy.

David Helms won’t make it easy on The Golden Goddess and that makes her happy.  Angelica doesn’t want it to be easy.  She wants it to be challenging.  She wants it to be difficult.  She wants to beat Helms at his own game and prove herself worthy of a title shot down the road.

Gold is what The Golden Goddess wants right now more than anything else.  Her wife, Lindsey Carter, who lies in bed at their home in Boston, Massachusetts, senses that Angelica needs a big win and needs gold.

“You have got to be fucking kidding me!”

That’s the voice of Angelica Jones and it is loud enough to wake the entire neighborhood around her.  Granted we don’t know if the entire neighborhood was woken up by her yelling, but we do know that it woke up her ever-so willing to please wife Lindsey Carter, who sits up in bed, wide-eyed upon hearing the shout from her wife in the hall.

It isn’t all too strange to hear the red-headed woman get upset.  Lindsey has been around Angelica long enough to see all sides of personality; her ups and her downs, from the fun loving Firestar to the Golden Goddess who loves luxury and even The Dragon who enjoys to inflict pain and punishment.  Lindsey has seen them all and there isn’t really much Angelica can do to surprise her anymore.  What is surprising about this in particular is the fact that it is ten o’clock at night.  Angelica is normally either in bed or out enjoying herself at this time of night.

Angelica most definitely wouldn’t be doing any business at this time of night and yet that is why she is on the telephone at this time.  Lindsey was only half-asleep when Angelica informed her that she would be making a quick business call.  That quick business call turned into an all night shouting fest.

“What do you mean there’s nothing you can do?!”

Hearing her wife’s voice growing louder in decibels causes Lindsey to grow concerned enough to slip the covers off of the bed and then step off the bed herself.  Lindsey, wearing a lacy black pra and panty number, quietly exits the bedroom and steps out into the hall.  To her right she finds her wife, dressed in a pink skimpy nighty, pacing the floor with her cell phone pressed up against her ear, shouting angrily.

“You had damn sure better do something about this and you had better keep me appraised of what’s going on.  That place owes me.”

Jones immediately hangs up and drops the cell phone on the ground.  She reaches out, grabs a nearby vase, and throws it onto the ground as well, shattering it into many pieces.  Angelica’s rage is about to continue as she turns to find more things to break but stops in her tracks upon seeing Lindsey  Carter standing there, watching it all with a smirk on her face.

“Oh…” Angelica’s face grows red with embarrassment as she looks down at the broken vase “…that was yours.”

Lindsey nods her head. “Yep…”

“God, I’m so sorry, babe…”

Jones bends down and attempts to scoop up the pieces, all in vain as she is too worked up, upset, and tired to top it all off, to get it together.

“I didn’t mean to…”

Watching her firey-tempered wife work herself up over this simple vase is enough to draw a bit of a laugh from the lips of Lindsey Carter.

“Don’t sweat it,” she chuckles “it was a fake.”

“Still, I need to control myself.”

Angelica approaches Lindsey, who takes her into her arms with a tight hug.  “Care to talk about it?”

The older red head sighs, pulling a way, and nods her head. “Yeah, sure.”

Lindsey takes Angelica by her hand and guides her away from the scene of her tirade and back into the bedroom.  Lindsey Carter, the lovely and caring wife she is, gently guides Angelica to the bed and helps her to sit down on the edge of the bed.  Lindsey sits down next to her and rests her head on the shoulder of Jones.

“Tell Lindsey all about it…”

“I don’t think you want to hear about it, Linds.”

“Try me.”

Jones shakes her head. “It’s just that…well you know me pretty well by now…”

The brunette looks up at her wife and smiles warmly. “Oh I know you very well, babe!”

“And you’re a rarity, because despite the many relationships I’ve had, I rarely let people get that close to me to really get to know me that well.  Sometimes when people get to know me they decide they can’t take it and they leave.”

“Sean Williams?”

Angelica nods her head. “Yeah…”

“Andreas Lasiewicz?”

“Well he could take it because he and I are very similar, but it was a mistake I made that drove him away.”

“Sean McBride?”

Yet another one of Angelica’s former husbands.  The red head nods her head. “He broke up with me.  It was rather violent.”

Lindsey gasps. “Did he hit you?”

Jones smirks. “I hit him…he hit me…it was a nice give and take as you can expect between two wrestlers.  But I do think he left because of my obsession over wrestling.”

Lindsey Carter kisses her wife on the cheek. “Well I’m not going to leave you, if that’s what you’re worried about.”

“Is that true?”  Angelica stares deep into Lindsey’s eyes. “Do you really mean that?”

Lindsey isn’t quite sure how to react to that.  She really and truly thought that what she and Angelica had was real.  Why would Angelica even think about questioning their love and their marriage?  It makes her feel afraid, almost apprehensive about continuing this line of thought.

“Of course I mean it, babe.” She runs her hand through Angelica’s long silky red hair. “I would never leave you.”

“But why would you never leave me…”

“What kind of question is that?”  Lindsey is growing impatient with this and slightly offended as well.

“I’m sorry but I have to know, would you never leave me because you actually love me, or because of the prenuptial agreement you were tricked into signing?”

Lindsey Carter didn’t marry into money by marrying Angelica Jones.  The redheaded Dragon made a simple living off of her singing career part time but mostly off of her wrestling career which doesn’t pay a great deal.  It was Angelica who married into money by marrying Lindsey Carter and it all went back to a deal she struck with her sometimes friend and sometimes enemy  Meagan Collins.

Meagan happened to be a business rival of Lindsey Carter and Meagan wanted to eliminate the competition.  She and Angelica worked out a plot where she would earn Lindsey’s trust and eventual love.  Meagan’s lawyer secretly drew up a prenuptial agreement which Lindsey didn’t bother to read when she signed it, happy that she was marrying Angelica Jones.  The agreement gives Angelica Jones or her next of kin full control over all of Lindsey’s assets in the event of the marriage ending.

Lindsey knew she was stuck and for awhile she grinned and bore it but, eventually, the two women grew to actually love one another, despite the situation and despite that the relationship began on a lie.  Now Angelica and Lindsey are truly happy.  At least Lindsey thought they were.

“I admit that I hated what you and Meagan did to me, but that was before I really got to know you .” The brunette wipes a tear out of her eyes. “I love you, Angel.”

“That’s the problem, though, you say that you got to know me but there are things about me that you don’t know.  Some of those things drove my lovers away when they found out about them.”

“There’s nothing you can tell me that would drive me away.”

“Don’t be so sure.” Angelica states plainly and coldly.

The red head’s eyes glare coldly at Lindsey. “Do you know why I wrestle?”

“For the love of the sport?  For competition?” Carter suggests, shrugging her shoulders.

“Wrong.” Angelica remarks emphatically. “I am in this sport to be the best.  I am here to be the world heavyweight champion.”

“Well, I guess that makes sense.” Lindsey states, nodding her head. “Everyone wants to be world champion, right?”

“No, it’s more than just wanting to be champion.  Without the world championship I am NOTHING!”

Lindsey blinks a few times, her eyes growing wider as she stares at Angelica.  She admittedly has not seen this side of Angelica before.  It is somewhat frightening.

“You’re great, Angel.  You are far from being nothing.”

“Oh I have done great things in my career, I am in the GDW Hall of Fame, MWA Hall of Fame, and MCW Hall of Fame.  How many can say that?  But it’s never enough for me.  I am never satisfied.  That hunger for more gold and more championships and more accolades is never ever satisfied.  I can never quench that thirst for achievement and titles.”

Jones bows her head, perhaps in shame as she admits her addiction to Lindsey.  Carter, who had up to this point felt somewhat afraid by her wife’s obsession, now feels bad for her and, just like the loving wife she is, just wants to help her feel better.  She places her head on her shoulder and gently pats her back.

“It’s ok, I’m here.”

“I’m not sure it’s ok.” Angelica answers slowly. “Brittany Lohan left me over my obsession.  She wanted me to stop wrestling and settle down but I just couldn’t do it.  The hunger was still there and needed to be satisfied.”

“But it’s ok, because you know I have no problem with you wrestling as long as you want.”

“It isn’t that simple.” Angelica looks up into Lindsey’s eyes. “I will probably compete until I’m either crippled or dead.”

More shocking rhetoric from Angelica Jones causes Lindsey to blink a few times curiously.  She isn’t quite sure how to respond here except with a sigh and a question.

“Who was that phone call with, Angel?”

“Officials with the Global Frontier Crown.” She states plainly. “I may not get my GFC World Title rematch.”

“So that’s why you’re pissed.” She leans in closely, tightly, to comfort Angelica. “Just focus on SCW, babe.  Don’t worry about anyone else.”

“Maybe.” Jones muses.  “I do have a big match against David Helms.  And I need to win this time.”

“You won at Apocalypse, didn’t you baby?”

Angelica narrows her eyes as that intensity from earlier reenters her features. “That was not a win.  That was a joke.”

Lindsey frowns. “Ok, sorry…”

“Those two losers were pathetic.  It was set-up to make Sienna and I look good.  But this is different.  Helms will actually fight back.  Helms will give me a war and I have to win.  I have to win if I can continue doing what I have to do…I have to beat him in order to advance towards my goal…”

“Where exactly are you going with this?”

“That’s why I signed with Silas Mason in the first place, Lindsey.” Angelica states slowly. “I only signed with him because he promised me championships.  He came through with his promise when I became GFC World Champion.  But now that title is gone…”

So that’s it.  Angelica is still fuming over her GFC Championship loss to Sean Sands over in Frontier.  She knew she took it hard but she didn’t realize she took it this hard.  And Lindsey herself also feels partially responsible for Angelica signing with Silas in the first place.  Angelica had been with Samantha Hodgson for the longest time but Lindsey tricked Angelica into leaving Hodgson in favor of Mason.  Lindsey wanted them apart because of Samantha’s opposition to their marriage and she was willing to do anything to break up Samantha and Angelica, including lie to Angelica.

“Lindsey,” Angelica begins with a much more somber look on her face “I will do anything to again be a champion.  If that means being one of Silas Mason’s hired guns then so be it.  If that means doing all the heavy lifting at Apocalypse while Sienna Swann just stands there looking good, then so be it.  I will do whatever he asks of me so long as I get gold wrapped around my waist again.  Are you ok with that, Lindsey?”

Carter doesn’t say a word, because she isn’t quite sure what her answer will be, and because she doesn’t want this conversation to continue any farther.  Instead she takes Angelica’s head and plants a passionate kiss on her lips.

“I…wow…” Angelica stutters “…I’ll take that as a yes…”

Angelica returns the kiss with one of her own.  The two women lie back down on the bed.  Angelica reaches for Lindsey’s bra strap and slowly begins to remove it…

==========
On Camera
==========

A bright blue sky is the setting hanging over a giant white building, a sporting arena to be precise.  A few people walk across in the background, seemingly oblivious to the camera crew.  Still they are oblivious, even as Angelica Jones steps into view.  The Boston native for this occasion is wearing a western style retro elegant gold lace dress with an empire waistline that stops just above the knee, a sheath silhouette, a slash neckline, and spaghetti straps which put heavy emphasis upon the elegance of this woman, a wrestling legend. This lovely gold dress tells the story of a woman who believes herself to be the true queen of professional wrestling.  Sunglasses cover her eyes.

“This is the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan.  I can honestly say that I am thrilled to once again be wrestling Japan.  The Japanese wrestling fans have real good taste when it comes to their wrestling.  They know talent when they see it and believe me, they know the name Angelica Jones.”

The redhead smiles confidently. “I have competed here so many times that, for a while at least, this was like a second home.  I would compete for Japanese wrestling leagues and I looked forward to the Japanese tour the Millennium Wrestling Alliance would take each year.  These people always gave me the respect that I deserved.”

“I remember competing at this particular arena.  It was here during one of MWA’s Japanese tours that I won one of my four MWA World Tag Team Championships.  It was in the nearby Tokyo Dome that I won one of my two MWA Millennium Championships.”

She smirks proudly, smugly. “I do very well in Japan.  I rise to the occasion in Japan, performing at an extraordinary level that no one can match, because that is what I do.”

“This arena cost the equivalent of one hundred and ninety five million US dollars to construct.” She raises her sunglasses up onto the top of her head, revealing her eyes. “I hope you know what this all means, David Helms.”

“I hope you appreciate the legacy of Japanese wrestling.  The wrestlers that have come out of here, the matches that have taken place here in this country, it’s legendary.  This country’s professional wrestling legacy is bigger than you, it’s bigger than me, it’s bigger than all of SCW.  We are among many in SCW that will get to write our names into Japanese wrestling history on Breakdown.  Is it humbling to know that?”

Angelica nods her head. “It should be.  It is a humbling experience for me, at least, to think about Japanese culture and what wrestling means to them.  These fans that we will be competing in front of will give us a kind of unrivaled respect that you and I won’t soon forget.   And together, you and I will give the Japanese fans something they won’t soon forget.”

Jones lowers her sunglasses back over her eyes. “Enough of the mushy bullshit.  Down to serious business.”

“We’re not that different from one another, David.  Tragic death has plagued us both…your younger brother died during a match did he not?  My mother was murdered and I was forced to watch.  Your marriage came apart, I have had more relationships and marriages get destroyed than anyone would dare think about.”

“But neither one of us would let that destroy us.” She shakes her head. “We kept fighting.  We wouldn’t let the pain kill us.  And it is for that reason that I respect the hell out of you, Helms.”

“I know, it may not be in the script I’m supposed to be going by, but what you need to realize about me is that I always march to the beat of my own drum.  I do what I want and I say what I want.  I respect you and I look forward to our confrontation at Breakdown.”

“That doesn’t change the fact that I have a goal set for myself.” She points a long slender carefully manicured finger into the camera. “And you are standing in my way.”

“You may be David Helms but I am Angelica Jones, I am The Golden Goddess, and when I set my mind to it, there is nothing anyone can do to stop me.  No, not even you.  Oh but don’t be sad or depressed David, you should be honored that you get to be in such a legendary arena with a twelve time world champion.  There has to be a winner, there has to be a loser, and on this occasion at least, you are going to be playing the role of loser in front of my fans, in front of my people.”
